After many years since the last entry in the 'Wars' series (Advance Wars: Days of Ruin came out on DS in 2008), the tactical turn-based strategy series is finally returning on Switch with Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. It was originally planned to launch on 8th April 2022, although Nintendo has delayed its release owing to world events.
Originally made by Intelligent Systems — the same Nintendo-exclusive team behind the Fire Emblem series — this remake of the first two entries on the Game Boy Advance is being handled by WayForward, developer of the Shantae series and specialists when it comes to revisiting older properties.
Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp pre-orders are already live and we've collected together the best deals we can find in the UK and US. Pre-Order Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp In The US
Several options are available to readers in the US too, with some familiar retailers all taking pre-orders as we speak:
Are There Any Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Special Editions On Switch?
It would appear that Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp isn't being treated to any special edition or limited edition releases at retail, so picking up a standard physical copy of the game is as good as it gets for collectors and fans of physical media.
But hey, at least that saves us all a few pennies!
Are There Any Pre-Order Bonuses For Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp
No pre-order bonuses have been announced for Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp at the time of writing. Some stores, such as the official My Nintendo Store, does sometimes share details of pre-order bonuses closer to launch, so we'll keep an eye out and update this page should anything change.

I had better see some square nuts in this game or else I’m not buying that anime kid’s double open spanner one bit.
Was definitely excited to see this one announced. I played the first one, I believe, but not the second one. And it has been so long ago now that it will feel like a new game anyway.
Never heard of it.
Super pumped! I usually buy physical but I know I will be hopping on to this so much I may just want digital for convenience. I still have all my GBA and DS copies anyway.
@dystome you're in for a treat
@Scarko I recommend you play Psychonauts. It’s fantastic!
@Scarko His profile picture would suggest a Comic Book Guy level of sarcasm.
Will definitely be buying it. They steadily went up in quality from 1, 2 to Dual Strike (the best in the series in my opinion). That last DS entry (Days of Ruin) was a miscalculation that almost killed the series, so I'm glad they're rolling back on it.
@robr Wouldn’t that spanner work for any nut with an even number of sides (providing it has the correct diameter)?
I really was excited for this when it was announced, but being delayed into a busy year, so close to Triangle Strategy has taken some of the shine off. Plus I think Ninty's pricing is a bit steep for the sort of game it is, and it seems Amazon and some other retailers have thought the same.
I think It's a game I'll wait on.
@Maxz @Yas
googled Psychonauts, looks boring. thanks anyway.
@Maxz In case you haven't played it, I would recommend Pokemon Red; it's a great, if obscure retro game.
Why would you pre-order it if there are no special editions or bonus tied in?
Thank you guys, I wouldn’t know where to shop for video games if you didn’t do this for Nintendo releases.
Please also do this for every other game that releases ever because shopping online is a tough thing to do.
@Joriss ya what is the point of pre-ordering this?
I dont pre order anything anymore. I will just get it from Argos when its release. Probarbly for £39.99 like i did pokemon legends.
So glad a physical, but will likely wait for a sale
Who pre orders anything anymore?
I'll wait to see if Curry's have it for £35
I am excited for this, might even go digital because I think it’ll be a nice casual game to play in handheld..
This is my number 1 game!!
The gba prices on eBay are insane. The ds ones are a lot cheaper. It is tempting.
Physical copies are always great to see, but it's a shame there's no special editions with figurines of the army units or COs. Definitely picking up a copy at Walmart for $50USD on release day.
I'm guessing dual strike just wasn't workable due to it using the DS screens back then. Still wouldn't mind it if they just split screened it. Dual strike was one of my faves but I'll still buy this remake.
@thejuice027 Cyberpunk 2077 owners.
(I’m sorry I couldn’t resist)
@Joriss I pre-ordered this ages ago, before it got delayed. You ask a fair question. I'll just say, for me, it's partly that I want a physical copy and I don't want to risk running into stock issues. That may be unlikely, but still. Also, usually Amazon will deliver on launch day for Prime subscribers, so I don't miss much time. Sure, a digital could be downloaded for midnight, but it's not that big a deal. Advanced Wars is a known enough quantity that I don't really need to read a bunch of reviews to know I want it.
@Ryu_Niiyama funny enough, I pre-ordered that for Stadia. They had some stupid cheap deal to get a free Chromecast/controller setup with it. I also am like the only person I know with very few complaints lol. Stadia got to play five hours earlier than other platforms, avoided the huge day one patch wait, and seems to run much more stable than console players report.
@Maxz
Yes, it’s just a weird design.
