Super Mario RPG: How To Defeat Belome

After a long trip down the Kero Sewers, the last thing you expect to see is a dog. And yes, that really is a dog. Belome is a strange-looking pup with some nasty attacks if you don't come prepared. But in Super Mario RPG, Mario and friends are always prepared.

In this guide, we'll tell you the best beat Belome in Super Mario RPG.

How to defeat Belome

You’ll want to start this battle off by striking Belome with Mario’s physical attacks and some Thunderbolt spells from Mallow. Belome will try to turn a party member into a scarecrow, but it won’t work if you’ve equipped the Trueform Pin.

In scarecrow form, your party member can only use special attacks. Mallow should only be using special attacks anyway, so that’s why we equipped Mario with the Trueform Pin.

Belome will also eat one of your party members during the fight. If Belome eats Mario, use Mallow’s Thunderbolt spell until he spits him out. If Mallow is eaten, use Mario’s physical attacks or Super Jump to deal some damage and free him. It won't take too long to take Belome down, though.
