Super Mario RPG Accessory FAQs

Are all of the accessories from the SNES game back?

Yes, every accessory from the SNES version is present in the Switch remake.

Some, however, have slightly different names — the Scrooge Ring is now the Flower Ring, while the B'tub Ring is now the Nurture Ring. All of the name changes are listed in the tables above. If you can't find the accessory you're after and only know it by its SNES name, then ctrl + F it!

Are there any new accessories in the Switch remake?

There are a few new accessories in the Switch remake of Super Mario RPG, with most of them being available once you've rolled the credits.

There is, however, a new accessory to help you find Hidden Treasures much more easily — the Echo Signal Ring. You get this when you originally got the Signal Ring in Legend of the Seven Stars on SNES, in Nimbus Land.

There are also two brand-new accessories you can get from post-game bosses.

What's the best accessory in Super Mario RPG?

Unlike weapons or armor, accessories are often situation-dependent, but if you're looking to challenge the toughest fights in Super Mario RPG, then we have a few suggestions.

The Jinx Belt is a great all-round accessory which boosts Attack, Defense, and Speed significantly, and is really good on one of your best attackers — either Mario or Geno.

The Troopa Medal, which you get from Land's End, is also fantastic because it multiplies Attack and Magic Attack by 1.5, so once again, great for Mario or Geno.

In terms of defensive accessories, the Safety Pin paired with the Lazy Shell armor makes Peach essentially invincible, while the Feather's huge speed boost is essential on basically anyone you want to go first.

The Attack Scarf is also rather excellent, providing boost of 30 to every single stat. However, you have to do 30 Super Jumps consecutively to even get the item...

Do Mallow, Geno, or Bowser have any specific accessories?

No, only Mario and Peach have character-specific accessories in both the SNES and Switch versions of the game.
