How To Get Shared Storage (Portal Pod) In Pokémon Pokopia

Shared storage arrived in Pokémon Pokopia as part of August 2026's 2.0.0 update.

Named the Portal Pod, this useful device allows you to store items inside to be retrieved from another Portal Pod located elsewhere.

Though it's available for all Pokémon Pokopia players - no Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass required - you can get one much faster with access to the Bubbly Basin DLC.

The Fastest Way To Get A Portal Pod In Pokémon Pokopia

In a hurry to get a Portal Pod? The easiest way is to start the Bubbly Basin DLC, then head to the very north-east of the Basin area, where there is one located inside a house.

The house you are looking for is seen in the screenshot below, with the location shown on the mini-map. Also included is what the house looks like above the water, to help you narrow down the location easier:

How To Get More Portal Pods In Pokémon Pokopia

The various known ways to get a Portal Pod are as follows:

1. Find one in the environment (such as in the Basin area, mentioned above)
2. 3D print a copy after taking a picture of a Portal Pod
3. Unlock a recipe from a PC by raising the environment level in Palette Town

The easiest way to get more Portal Pods is by taking a picture of one to 3D print later. You can do this by pressing the Minus button, press Y so the item name is displayed, then taking a snap. Now visit a Pokémon Center and use the 3D printer there, where it'll cost 5x Rare Pokémetal to construct.

The benefit of this method is if you don't own the Expansion Pass, you can visit a friend in multiplayer that does (or has a Portal Pod unlocked through other means) and take a snap that way.
