Topic: Multiple Wiis, local play

I was thinking of gathering 4 to 8 Wiis in the same room and have a MK race with some friends. One player per TV is a must, no screen sharing. Does anybody know if a regular wireless router will due or does such setup demand cable connection. Anybody tried it?

A wireless router should be fine. It's just like if you were playing online from different cities. Just make sure you all swap friend codes.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

My Nintendo: Katara

You have 8 Wii's and 8 TV's? ...Why?
And yeah, wireless should be fine. But won't having all those Wii's connected to the same router make the connection massively sluggish?

Well, that was my concern too. I guess that it´s only the matchmaking that goes through Nintendos servers, after that it´s probably some kind of peer to peer connection. If so maybe traffic wont go outside my router once we have setup the private room.

Anybody tried gaming with, lets say 4 Wiis through the same router before?
