Like this but identical to the original game's stage layout (there are some slight differences in the video). There would be original and modern gameplay styles to choose from. Orignal would be identical to the original game in mechanics whereas Modern would play identical to New Super Mario Bros. The music would be remixed to be similar to the SML music in Brawl - the actual Easton Kingdom remix in Brawl would be in this game too.
It would be 500 points. New stages would depend on whether they could fit them into that price point. I'd prefer it to stay at 500 points but if they wanted to add a bunch of new stuff at a higher price point then I guess that would be okay.
Well, I was thinking of what you do get for 500 points on the WiiWare. A platform game with twelve stages with pre-made graphics and engine shouldn't cost too much to develop.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
KONAMI recreated old NES and GAMEBOY games with new graphics: CONTRA and CASTLEVANIA.. with just 6 or 7 stages. Do you now how much they were? 1000pts.
Nintendo's ECO SHOOTER had 3 stages: 1000pts. Nintendo's Dr. Mario, Actionloop, My Pokémon Ranch? 1000pts each.
Sonic 4 has what? 12 stages? 1500pts.
You'd think a new Mario game with 12 stages would be 500pts? I tell you what, there's not a single Nintendo published game on the WiiWare service that is 500pts.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

I'd think that a 1989 GB platformer is actually a lot shorter in length than those WiiWare platformers you mentioned. And its not just length but development too that would make those other games at 1000 points. My idea would be the equivalent of a D.I.Y. platformer made to resemble the old game. Most of the work is done already; all they would have to do is use appropriate tiles to build the old GB game.
The way you're talking its like the 500/600 points price point doesn't exist at all for the WiiWare. Or that games for it are shorter than a 1989 GB game.

I always find the original Super Mario Land is remembered too fondly. It was an ugly mess in a lot of respects. It wasn't bad but it certainly didn't feel like a Mario title. On the other hand Super Mario Land 2 is better than dual wielding puppies.
