Nope, I stick by my original comment. Infact, it's my favorite game ever. When I see people around here knock it(YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE), I actually begin to lose temper(which i pretty much never do online) and want to sodomize them with a rusty razor blade. This game is godly to me.
He also complains about the Castlevania games that followed it. Which makes WAY more sense than just thinking AVGN did a POSITIVE video. Okay, he did it with SMB3, but that also had The Wizard, which was just weird.
Okay, I have NOTHING against Castlevania IV in particular; in fact, I think it probably is the best non-Metroidvania game in the series. Even so, I couldn't beat it, and I decided to give up on it along with every other non-Metroidvania game in the series. They're just not my style. Sorry if that pisses you off, vio.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
I've beaten Super Castlevania IV a few times, even it's BARELY EVER MENTIONED SECOND, HARDER QUEST!!! It's a good game, not my favorite, but is fun to play anytime. I do love it's soundtrack.
Speaking of Rondo, I was kind of disappointed he only reviewed Dracula X. I would like to know what he thinks of Rondo in comparison, as he didn't seem to like Dracula X much. I guess he doesn't have a PC Engine, which doesn't surprise me since he's never reviewed a single TG16/PCE game in all the years he's done the show.
Thanks for that. Not the AVGN vid in particular - I got bored with it halfway through and switch to some other videos - But thanks to that, I got to watching a bunch of Screw Attack shows which were really great. I love those Game Vault clips, their fantastic! They pretty much reminded me why I play games.
Well, I've relented and downloaded this one again after deciding to see if I could find a video to show me where I went wrong. Youtube was my friend and a level 8 "Let's Play" video caused was a real "d'oh" moment. So I'm prepared to tackle it again because the beginning bits really are a bit of fun and I was pleased at how far I got without cheats, etc. so I'm pleased to be given it another go.
Super Castlevania 4 was my first VC purchase. I have loved that game since it came out on the SNES in the Fall of '91. I still have a working SNES and cart, but it was worth buying the VC version.
