Hand is healing...slowly, but healing. While driving I heard Everybody Hurts on the radio and I thought that'd make a good Wii Music project during my injury.

So I set about recording something Everybody-Hurts-inspired, using I'll Be There as my base for no reason other than the fact that I received a video for that song from Adam when I booted up the game, and it put me in mind.

You all have a copy of my injury song, feel free to make fun of it. The rhythm section sounds much more like it was pulled from a Talking Heads song with its relentless, mechanical ratcheting, but there's a little Everybody Hurts hidden in there after all. And I accidentally managed to tease a few bars of "Jingle Bells" at some point, which you may or may not even be able to hear. Don't ask me how I did it, I have no idea.

I'll make fun of it later, but for now I quite like it! I'm glad I read this post just now, too, because I was about to send you I'll Be There. I guess it was my latest F-Zero song that I didn't send you, so I'll resend that. If you have both already, I think you are up to date with my latest noises songs.

I'd definitely be up for another collaboration, if you guys are up for it. We have a few new faces in this thread I think...and I know Adam is dying to break out his cheerleader uniform again.

ahem well I'll be out of the country this week (going to Canada till next Saturday! yay!) so I won't be able to make fun of Chicken's song, or do a collaboration.

Chicken, didn't you get the last thing I sent you building upon Metroid IT's drums? I was hoping that would start the next collaboration. I really have a big backlog of videos to watch from you guys, I'll get to them in the next couple of days, promise!

Which one was it, Sean? I had a backlog of videos after a long period of inactivity, and I don't think they all loaded up when I finally booted up the game again. It looks like they might "expire" after all. Or maybe if you have over a certain number in your queue they start getting erased.

What was the name of the song? I'll check to see if I have it.

Resent last night and watched the massive video backlog. Nice stuff folks; wassi amazes as usual.

Chicken, I've already packed up all my games for when I move Thursday, and I don't know if I'll have my Wii online any time soon. I'll have my laptop online though, so I'll let you know Thursday or Friday what my situation is, and you can just send it to someone else or wait for me after you're done. Well, assuming I am your favorite cowboy, that is.

EDIT: Not worth a brand new post, but here's my update: I will not have a steady internet connection nor the time to play Wii Music much in the foreseeable future. Sucks that I just got the game but whatever. Carry on the collaboration without me, and don't bother trying to share videos with me since I can't get them anymore.

Top ten, anyway.

I played some Wii Music last night with two friends who already expected to hate the game, thanks to bad reviews. One friend, bless her heart, really did end up disliking the game. The other really enjoyed it. We stopped playing because of the first friend who was clearly not having a good time, and I think the other girl was really disappointed that we didn't do more. I think she was just starting to get into the swing of it.

Oh well. At least they both got to try it, and even if one disliked it, at least she knows what it's actually like now. (And it proved to me that even someone who dislikes the game will have a soft spot for Hitler taking a bass solo.)

I think the problem with people who have never played it before is that they can't seem to get past the idea that they can play whenever they want. So that's all they do--just freak out on their instruments, and then complain that the game sounds like crap.

I was on vacation all weekend and my uncle brought Guitar Hero. I just couldn't get into it like I get into Wii Music. Don't get me wrong, I really like Guitar Hero--it's fun. But it's just so darn restrictive. I'll never understand the people who bash Wii Music for having no depth. What's so deep about timing button presses?

Right so I plugged in my Wii for the first time in two weeks (that sounded a bit dirty) and I played around on Wii Music for a bit. I sent out a little beat jam I made. It's nothing spectacular but it's probably worth a listen.
