We really need Majora's Mask on VC. We have Ocarina of Time and TP HD, we just need MM to finish out the timeline!

My roommate and I have been playing DK64, it's my first time playing the game. It's incredibly difficult at point but I would totally recommend it to anyone with some free time and a fair amount of patience. We just finished up Gloomy Galleon a few weeks ago: https://youtu.be/LAjAlS0oXGM

@Whopper744 it pretty eazy and shortish for a traditional style rpg. It reminds me of the first dragon warrior/dragon quest. If you like that you will like this.

I am thinking of getting Super Mario Kart (because it is so cheap on My Nintendo) I enjoyed the game a lot as a kid but feel the mechanics may not be so great to revisit, especially after having put so many hours into Mario Kart 8. Is it worth it?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

If you want to have a ton of fun with DK64, you should learn to do some of the glitches, such as my favorite, the moonkick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCfJzrQlTIk

@KingMike
When it comes to Tactics, there's really only one game I can recommend, and that's Fire Emblem. I couldn't even play FF Tactics after a taste of Fire Emblem on GBA. That game hooked me, on Chapter 25... Still need to finish it actually.

I know I have a physical copy of Advance Wars 2.
I can't remember if AW1 or 2 was one of the 3DS Ambassador games, but I downloaded AW1 anyways on Wii U.

I wasn't in the ambassador program, so, not sure about that but yeah...Advance Wars...cool game.

Meteos for the DS!

Completely unavailable as a physical copy without exceptions, #1 DS game in Nintendo Power. If anything, Wii U VC needs Meteos for the DS 20,000%! Never mind 100%!

Does anyone recommend picking up the Metroid Prime Trilogy? The reason I ask is because it's currently available as a discount through My Nintendo. I like the Metroid series but have only played the 2D games (minus Zero Mission).

My questions:
1. Does MPT have narration in the vein of Metroid Fusion, or is there very little like in the first three games of the series? Either way won't be a dealbreaker, this is more out of curiosity.
2. If MPT is a straight-up shooter, I'm not sure if it's for me. I mainly enjoyed the earlier games due to the platforming and discovery/exploration/power up elements.
3. How many hours is the whole trilogy, roughly?

Thanks!

1, not really but you do find out about the lore of planets, aliens subtly etc.
2, it's not a shooter, it's very much a Metroid game where you focus on exploring.
3. loads, at least 40 hours probably alot more than that. It's been awhile so I can't remember how long excatly.

@jump:
1. Good enough for me then. I'll probably end up playing these alongside a more story-heavy game.
2. This is a good sign. I've only seen a few minutes of gameplay so far (of the first game), and I was a bit worried.
3. I see. I'll probably play these spread out then; I was originally planning on playing them one after the other.

Thanks!

I wish Square Enix had supported the Wii U VC more. I've been waiting for GBA Final Fantasy V, SNES Final Fantasy III (or GBA Final Fantasy VI), SNES Secret of Mana, SNES Illusion of Gaia/Time and SNES Terranigma.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Yeah it's sad you can get Square games on the Wii Shop, but not the WiiU eShop. Very Sad indeed.

May the Switch receive a better quality of support from other companies when it comes to VC games.

Damn, I never realized this game was 3D. I've always wanted a 3D Donkey Kong game, will have to pick it up.

I 101% completed DK64 back in the day. I had way too much free time as a kid.

I think that's what has brought us to this forum lol.
