So what, Wonderful 101 doesn't count as a new franchise? Why is everyone forgetting that game? And Miyamoto himself stated that he has a new game series in the works and its first title will be on Wii U. So be patient. And if you don't buy a Wii U, you'll be missing out on:
New Super Mario Bros. U
New Super Luigi U
Pikmin 3
Sonic Lost World (the superior home console version)
Nintendo Land
Lego City Undercover
Rayman Legends (the best edition)
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (the best edition)
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Super Mario 3D World
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (the enhanced edition)
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Mario Kart 8
Super Smash Bros. 4
Upcoming 3D Zelda title
All glorious titles yet to be announced for Wii U, including Miyamoto's new IP
...but really, it's all up to you.

You need to add Zombie U but a lot of those games are only so-so for me.
That's cool. After all it doesn't make much sense to spend money on a system just to play one game.
Although I can't speak for your personal preference in a must have game since everyone view varies and I don't know what game you'll like, I can say they are quite a number of games on the system since last year that falls in new franchise, Wii U exclusive, and/or non-remakes of current IPs. Plus since some of the game been out for almost a year, they're at bargain price (ex. Zombi U for less than $20).

"I'm not getting a Wii U unless Nintendo actually MAKE NEW FRANCHISES" People point out X and Wonderful 101
"Those dont count because I dont like them"
Lol. So, you're not even making a general point about what Nintendo should do as a company such as making new franchises; you've just made a thread to say that you personally dont currently like the Wii U lineup. Brilliant.
Little tip for the future: this isnt a blog. Threads are for discussion. Posting your personal opinion and why you wont be buying a specific console doesnt do anyone any good.
Funny about not buying it because lack of a new franchise. You see, Nintendo released a new IP pretty recently called The Wonderful 101. Thing is... Barely anyone bought it. So you have to kind of understand why Nintendo is reluctant to use new IPs.

It seems to me that the reason he's not buying is because of games that don't even exist. People want a Majora's Mask remake, not that one has been announced or anything. Oh, and people want a new Mega Man for the Wii U, again, hasn't been announced and likely won't happen. So, because people want games for the Wii U that there's no evidence even exist, the best solution is to just not buy the system, right? Oh, and who wants a new Mario when you have all the old Marios? Then why even consider buying a new gaming system at all?
You know what? I'm not buying a ps4 because I heard someone wants a remake of Twisted Metal for that system. I don't want a remake of Twisted Metal, so I'm not getting a ps4.
Buy what you like, don't buy what you don't like. Problem solved!
