Are you really surprised? This was bound to happen anyways, but because there was a low amount of new unlockable characters like Ridley, K Rool, Mewtwo, Dixie, Issac and Ray who have such eager fanbases. I'm not a huge fan of any of those cult-characters, and even I'm sad of the lack of new characters.

DLC may happen I just don't feel it will personally and all these characters you want as DLC have as much of a chance as they did making it into the initial roster so I wouldn't assume they'll be DLC basically.
That is like when people look to far into the game and try to conclude how the game fits perfectly into every series timeline somehow through little things in the game a developer never ment for to be taken that way

@TeeJay Your counter point doesn't really fit, though. Correct me if I'm.wrong, but didn't someone say that it read something along the lines of "The true All Star mode has been unlocked. Now go out there and fight!" It did NOT say that they had unlocked all of the characters in Smash Wii U and 3DS.
We WERE, however, told that when we unlocked all the characters in the game, the padlock on All-Star Mode would disappear and LOOK! It's gone!
The reason the doesn't matter to those of us that like to hope is because At no point in here does it suggest that we have unlocked the full roster. Just that we've unlocked all the characters in the game.
Besides, like I said to Lz, before, the unlockables are so incredibly underwhelming in this game that we just can't help but expect that "and one more" that the last two games had.
I mean, come on! You unlock the entire roster in just 120 vs matches! That's really kinda sad. I could do that in three hours.

You made really good points and i read the 3ds is to be a better single player experience and wii u be a better multiplayer experience

It's practically guaranteed. Did you people learn nothing from denying the full roster leak? DLC IS happening. How it's distributed is what's up for speculation.
The full roster ESRB leak, the one I referred to, wasn't. And parts that were fake about that leak were admitted to be fake by the very person who leaked them. Everything else they claimed was right.
... Another MARIO character joins... actually 2 because of ROSALINA AND BOWSER JR and then THE ICE CLIMBERS GO AWAY? No, no, no.... something is wrong. I like the roster. I really do. But when one franchise is getting more love than another then something is wrong!!!! I don't blame the people who are hoping for character DLC when guys like freaking Bowser Jr. gets in while other FAR MORE DESERVING characters (insert anybody from the classic Donkey Kong games) gets ignored and discarded!
Once again... I like the roster but some of these decisions just don't make any sense. Hence... I don't laugh at people who are hoping for character DLC in some form.
DLC is possible, but there's no guarantee that Lucas, Wolf, Ice Climbers, etc would be part of it. In fact, the DLC may not even be fighters at all. Could just be additional ATs, Pokemon, alt costumes, Mii clothing, and stages.
If they did fighter DLC, it could end up being Pichu, Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Roy for all we know. More clones
