Just for the record, if SE ever reduces the price to 30 dollars or less on the eShop version, I will most likely sell my current 360 copy of the game and buy it. This doesn't matter to anyone but I wanted to say it nonetheless.
I'm still sad this happened to such a brilliant title but if nothing else, apparently it did nothing on other consoles too so whatever.
It's such a better version than those available for other consoles. Once you've become accustom to having the GamePad in your lap while playing Deus Ex there is no going back (the radar map alone transforms the stealth gameplay). The improved boss battles go a long way towards fixing one of my biggest complaints. And the commentary is totally worthwhile. Off screen play is a godsend for an RPG. Also it looks a fair bit better (mostly better lighting; however, the DC versions on PS3/360 run like butt).
I hear ya, especially because it seems Straight Right fought for the opportunity to make this port happen. But really I'm just so glad that it happened at all. One of my faves from last gen (it doesn't hold a candle to the original, though) entirely improved and standing as proof of what the GamePad can offer, even to preexisting concepts.
I know you probably don't want to drop the extra $20 but seriously, man, it's worth it. I just get lost playing that game for hours, it just works so well on the gamepad, and having the guide in game on the pad helps, not to mention the ease of use with the inventory, the map annotations, and the voice recording ... So, maybe you should think of the extra $20 as a tip to Straight Right for making a boss version of the game. Wouldn't hurt if you bought some eshop cards on discount too. I mean Best Buy just recently had that deal so the game would have cost you $40 and you would have gotten a full $5 back in DDP, so it would have net cost you $35...
I've never played it but it definitely piqued my interest.. I'd probably pick it up in physical form if I saw it in the $30.00. My friend has the regular version on Xbox 360 and said it was good, but load times were atrocious. I tend to wait for games to drop in price before I buy them.. unless I know for a fact they won't disappoint. It doesn't help that I'm broke most of the time.
It's a great game and I'm loving it on my PS3, but yeah, I'd pick it up for Wii U if it dropped down to $30. I'd also pick up Tomb Raider for the same price.

I got Director's Cut on Wii U for Christmas while my brother owns Nordic edition on PS3. I haven't gotten very far on the former (and I haven't even touched the latter) but from what I've played it's pretty good.
I bought it before Christmas. Haven't played it much but it looks cool. I didn't mind paying the extra $20 for the additional functionality. It was well reviewed and i wanted to support the system/developer. I've seen it for $40 now on Amazon.
I played the PC version and really did not care for the game, It felt far to linear and very non open when it's suppose to be an open world game.
It was never touted open world, like Skyrim Open world, it's a more play how you choose Action/RPG. None of the Deus Ex games are open world so I wonder where you got that impression. The thing that makes Deus Ex awesome are the narratives, of which Human Revolution has a good one, and the ability to play the game how it suits you. I haven't hard a pure run through yet because I got so mad at some of the enemies that I had to cap em. I have ghosted a few worlds and beaten the bosses without ever picking up a gun. I plan on a replay either going full guns blazing lethal or complete ghost lethal.
The game is awesome. And I will say it again, if people keep an eye out for when the Eshop cards go 20% off again you can effectively get these games for a lot less digitally.

I finally gave up as Gamestop sold it for 20 used instead. And now I own the title and SE didn't make an extra penny off my purchase. They had 2 years to do a single sale on the eShop for the game they intentionally made more expensive on Wii U, and they refused. Even if no one else remembers this bs, I will.
the irony is that SE has slowly been redeeming themselves but considering the whole pre-order garbage they tried (and hilariously failed) to pull with the new Deus Ex game, it's unfortunately not surprising. I mean I'm sadly not too surprised even ignoring that considering this garbage pricing sabotaged the only version of this re-release anyone might've bought (from what I know, literally NO ONE cared about the 360/PS3 version despite (because?) of the original version selling well on those consoles), so their refusal to give even a single sale to make it reasonable is either proof they are pathetically greedy or just didn't care. The fact that the Wii U version is by all accounts a great port makes it infuriating as Square Enix entirely wastes people's talents on games it sabotages the sales of.
Of course, PS4 and Xbox One are popular and cool so they actually had to listen when people rejected Mankind Divided's preorder. But a sale?! PFFFT, WHY WOULD YOU EVEN?! Hahaha how silly, now give us 15 bucks for awful looking iOS ports of SNES games.
Ya. I agree. I bought the game digitally when it was new, for $50, so it still made sense, but a lot of the 3rd parties need to lower the prices; like Ubisoft and Namco did. The EA Sports, Need for Speed, etc. are still full price, because they are idiots, but I bet that a few people are still buying here and there.
They probably don't want to lower the prices, because they want every penny. I was buying digital on the day these games came out or soon after, because I knew disc versions were the only prices that would drop after a while, so day one is basically a must for digital. I bought Kirby and The Rainbow Curse on disc for $10 with my brother's help, but they are doing some good sales on the eShop, from time to time.
I'm defintely interested in Deus Ex, but considering the unbelievable pre-order scam for that sequel, and the fact that I despise Square Enix, I'll probably get it used somewhere, if ever.
I would try to get it for $20 or less, maybe. Just look for coupins and stuff. I got Mass Effect 3 on Wii U for $9, and it would have been $4 if I got the buy used coupon, but the only reason why I used the coupon anyway, was because they expire fast and they didn't have what I wanted in the store. Then, I would have to ship to store or to my house. Not worth the trouble at the time.

I eventually did pick up Human Revolution on Wii U and Tomb Raider on PS4. I was going to pre-order Mankind Divided too, but after that super scummy pre-order thing, I'm going to wait for a sale on principle.
Given that SE has been doing so many other things right lately though, I'm willing to chalk that fiasco up to them not quite getting western gamers' unhealthy obsession with pre-ordering unfinished products to get content that should be included in the shipped game for free. I mean, they were close, but they forgot to add a crappy $200 statue.
