The most intriguing thing about it is how perfectly it would integrate the tablet touch-screen feature. It would be phenomenal for it, and that's the main reason I see it fit as an idea for them to develop it onto this console.
Besides, who wouldn't like to sit down and play a popular MMO like this on their TV?

Why would you need a Wii U to play an MMO on your TV? Just if you have a newer HDTV you can just hook up your tower or laptop to your TV with a HDMI cable. I do that when I play WoW and no one is using the TV.

I doubt Microsoft Games could have snagged an indefinite exclusivity deal, but Minecraft on any Console would be much less enticing for me. Sure, there would be no crippling slowdown, but there'd be no modding and (probably) no free updates.
Particularly galling, is the fact that XBOX Indie Games already has its "Minecraft", albeit a shoddy knockoff.
Oh, it was hilarious to read the toad (who designed this rip-off) try to justify himself for copying wholesale the more popular Minecraft.
(actual question. I'd never seen it referred as that before, and I don't play it myself)
That's a good observation, but thinking about it, it could be classed as an MMO. It's not the first thing that comes into people's minds when they think about Minecraft though, is it.
Also, I fail to see how a tablet controller would make playing Minecraft any easier than WSAD+mouse controls. Frankly, the only reason I'd like to see Minecraft on the WiiU is if it were to boost the console's "cred" among people who wouldn't normally consider buying a Nintendo console.
Like I alluded to, I have a PC. Mojang (the developers) designed the game for the PC (the mods are a good selling point for me), and so I wouldn't buy it again, given the opportunity.

I supposed it would be Massively Multiplayer Online Creative/Simulation/Whatever Genre MineCraft Is Game instead of Massively Muliplayer Online Role Playing Game?

Yeah, this. From my (admittedly distant) observations about this game, calling Minecraft an RPG is like calling Zelda an RPG. Only people who don't know what RPGs are do that.
I always figured Minecraft was a sandbox sim game, MMO or otherwise.

And you would know this how?

as already stated in the second post, Notch has already said that, at least for the time being, Xbox will be the sole console provider for minecraft, and considering the PC version is still in beta, the mobile version is still in alpha, and we don't even have an alpha version for the xbox, we probably won't see an xbox version for at least 12-18 months, and it'll probably stay exclusive for another 2-3 years after that, any speculative talk for the Wii U at this point is quite pointless really, it's just all too far off

I've never even played Minecraft, so I'm not portraying this from a fanboy/girl-ish type view.

Because I've seen it in action. A video would be a good example of this.
I don't know whether Minecraft is an MMO or not, but I'm aware it has multiplayer options. Either way, I wouldn't say I'm the best person to present this idea. It was a random thought, I'll admit. Not speculation on whether or not it will come to the Wii U.
I have played minecraft before, myself, and I don't like it. However, minecraft with the WII U would be awesome for minecraft fans while you can have your inventory on your tablet.
Not extremely into nintendo at the moment, but not really into anything else either. :|

know what? the different versions? it's all listed on the minecraft wiki, anytime Notch comes up with something new, he tweets it and the wiki gets updated
