So Nintendo were at the GDC 2014 show floor, showcasing the abilities of Nintendo's Web Framework for Wii U eShop game development. Apparently, there was a GDC Web Framework Demo, which was a Mario vs. Donkey Kong Wii U demo. The demo has not been confirmed to be an upcoming full game yet but on the off chance that it is, what do you guys think?
I really hope that this is more than just a tech demo for GDC and I also think that it won't just be one. The selection screen makes it seem like the levels shown were just specific to GDC and not the game itself. I'd totaly buy this if there was a decent ammount of levels and if the price was right.
I hope this turns into a full game but I also hope they do something more interesting with the GamePad. Having it just mirror onto the TV is kinda boring.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
My impressions? I'd buy it. I have yet to purchase any of the Mario Vs DK games so this would be a first. It looks like a pretty fun lemming-esque game which I like. My bet is that it's an actual game.. I don't know why they would make this demo just to show off web framework..
As usual, YouTube commenters are complaining... Yeah, I'd like for this to be a full game too. I guess the M vs. DK demo is a demonstration for indie developers? Minis on the Move was fun and Mini-Land Mayhem is my favourite of the Mini games.
It'd be great if the game featured Mini gameplay and the Platforming gameplay ala Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the GBA.

the original mario vs donkey kong was awesome. i loved the platforming and puzzles in it, much like donkey kong 94 and even the original donkey kong arcade game before it. the minis on the move style was pretty cool, and im still playing through the 3ds version right now, but i really do prefer the platform style over the puzzle style, even though i love them both.
If they could make it a game like Donkey Kong '94 or Mario Vs. Donkey Kong GBA I might be more interested.
Sorry, I just don't like the direction the series has gone in.

@SparkOfSpirit - I can understand that. I quite like Mini Land Mayhem but there's nothing quite like Mario vs. Donkey Kong GBA. I'd really like to make levels for that game's gameplay. Also, here's GameXplain discussing the matters at hand. Considering that the demo was supposedly made with HTML / Java / etc., it looks really good.

So another game where I'll be looking at the smaller gamepad while ignoring my huge, high-def TV. If I want to game on a tablet, I'll download cheaper iOS games. This seems like a fit for the 3DS, but I guess Nintendo's throwing everything at Wii U and hoping something sticks at this point.

You need to look at both. Your high-def TV contains the full level. The GamePad contains a part of it. For the larger levels, that is.
The latest Nintendo Direct made mention of this game and it is both a Wii U and 3DS title.
Buying one version of the game also gives a download code for the other version. The stars work as currency of sorts; buy parts for the level editor or give them to others!
