There were a number of Bible games made by Wisdom Tree (formerly Color Dreams, but they changed their name when they switched focus to Christian games), ranging NES, Gameboy, Genesis, and even one SNES game. They vary in quality, with Bible Adventures (a collection of three platformers) generally being agreed upon as the worst. Exodus and its sequel, Joshua, are both challenging action/puzzle games.
Spiritual Warfare is pretty much a Zelda clone, and a pretty good one at that (Genesis version vastly superior to the NES verison due to mildly improved graphics and a customizable music setup). Bible Buffet is a board game with top-down action levels...quite fun, and the Bible aspect actually only affects optional "pop quizzes," which use a booklet that came with the game (I still have that booklet...don't know if you can find that info online or not). Super Noah's Ark 3D is an infamous graphics swap of Wolfenstein 3D, rumored to have been made with id's help to make fun of Nintendo's censorship.

They were, of course, pushed out of the console game market when security measures improved and it was no longer plausible to release unlicenced games. They've continued on with PC products to this day, and have a website that both sells games and has a few to play online free. You can try some of them out here, if you're interested.
@pikmaniac: Ah, yes, The Bible Game. Unrelated to the work of Wisdom Tree, and also the only Bible video game ever released for a game console under licence (unless you count the Larryboy game, from the same people...but that's technically Veggietales, not Bible). The PS2/Xbox version was a multiplayer party game with minigames and trivia. The GBA version was a horrible one-player isometric adventure with Bible trivia.
That it is. It's also one of the games available to play on the page I linked above, along with Josha, Spiritual Warfare, Bible Buffet, and a few lower-quality titles. Can't beat free, right?

Well, give them a go, at any rate. The free games are browser versions, NOT downloads. Some of those same games are available for download, but they cost money.

Yeah, I played Bible Adventures and Exodus. They were some of the first video games I ever played, and I loved them, especially whatever that one was called with the camel, because he could spit at people. There was also a Bible game where you play as Joshua and it was like a puzzle/maze-type game. At the end of every level a horrible voice sample would say "good job, Joshua". I liked all of those games as a kid, and I downloaded them on an emulator a few years ago, and I don't get why people think they're so horrible. They're nothing great, but they're not as bad as their reputation
AVGN episodes are even better if you played the games back in the day. :3 I remember i used to have a friend who lived nearby when i was little, these dumb bible games were the only kinds of games they were allowed to have for their NES (even SMB was 'too violent', lol). we spent hours trying to beat those games... it really sucked, lol.
