Did I hype the game up too much for myself? Was I wrong to go in thinking this would be a proper RPG and not a hack-and-slash game, with non-linear bits?
I saw a video or two about the game and saw the same similarities that lots of other people saw: the WoW color pallette, the Fable action-oriented gameplay, the Dragon Age-y rpg elements, and the Skyrimish crafting. Still, I went into the demo with no significant expectations. Now having played the game itself, I still hold those initial beliefs and still see some of the influence of the previously mentioned games, and I still love Amalur for what it is: nothing particularly original or groundbreaking but a FANTASTIC combination of (and drastic improvement upon) all the things I love from all those other games.
Dude you bought amy. The game is horrid. Clunky controls and what not.
Look, I read the boards of GFaqs since I value their opinion more than the journalists, and I think AMY is my cup of tea... Game breaking bugs withstanding. Hey, if I enjoyed RE1-3 then I may find this good.... or not
I actually didn't mind Amy. It was a geniune attempt at being a genuine survival horror experience. What annoys me about other certain "horror" series' (Resident Evil) is that the games have become action orientated: I mean, weapon upgrades? FFS, horror is meant to be about making do with one or two bullets - if that.
Horror is not "pretty graphics + good controls + lots of ugly enemies to shoot."
So, while Amy is an undeniably flawed game, for horror purists, it's actually a bit of fun - and cheap to boot.

before i check is 6 avabile free i have 5 7 and 8 downloaded but i never played 6 so
I'm pretty sure FFV is the only one available for free. FFVI is a great game though, you should get it anyway
Oh and I notice you don't have FFIX either, that's my favorite FF game actually. You should check that one out as well :3 I never played FFVIII myself, it's the only one on PSN I haven't played D:

Not the PlayStation version of VI, though. There's a really, really long loading time each and every time you open the menu. The GBA version is the better one.

Ah okay, I've never played the PS version, just the original SNES. FFV on PSN has some loading times too, but you get used to it after a while. It's funny, you'd think it wouldn't take as long in digital form since it doesn't have to load the data from a disc D:
My FFIX recommendation is still strong though n__n
was watching the lame Tester show thing and... omg bugs. I would die instantly if I saw that many so close to me, let alone my head was put into an enclosed box with like 100 of them ;________________;
