@elipro to be honest i would disagree with those two recommendations. If you want some good ps3 exclusives check out God of War III, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and clank, Heavy rain, other recommendations = NFS hot pursuit, Marvel vs capcom 3...kinda nailed every category of game haha im just not a fan of dynasty warriors and warriors of troy has a 42% on gamerankings.com
Gamerankings is wrong. I gave Troy 4.5/5
Since Elipro did us a great favour and didn't tell us what kinds of games he actually enjoys, there is every chance he is like me and enjoys the niche appeal of the Warriors games.
He also might not, but hey, he didn't give us much to work with.

That's why I ignored him instead of throwing out Bayonetta, Super Street Fighter 4, BlazBlue Continuum Shift, Devil May Cry 4, Assassin's Creed II, BioShock, Fallout 3, Metro 2033, Vanquished, Edit: Just read that he doesn't like FPSes and all the other great Multi-platform titles I'm assuming he missed out on the Xbox since he found it "boring". (not to mention the great exclusives like Crackdown) Besides, I don't have it in me to casually recommend someone waste their money on games they might not like assuming they take me seriously, unlike you.
But like I said, who cares about reviews? Have you heard about Developers being rated by Metacritic now? Miyamoto and the like are rated on the games they make now.
I take it you read the review, and the reasons I scored it so high, before making such a comment, then?
BlazBlue Continuum Shift, Devil May Cry 4, Assassin's Creed II, Fallout 3
Hilarious.

What on earth makes you think I "casually" recommend those games? I wish someone had have recommended the games to me years ago. I didn't play my first Warriors game until Samurai Warriors 3 precisely because of the reviews and reputation, and the only reason I played SW3 was because I was sent a copy to review.
I've already introduced a few other people to the series, and they've gone out and bought games of their own. There's a large number of people out there that don't even realise they like these games.
So no, it was not a causal recommendation, it was a genuine one, and until Dynasty Warriors 7 or the HD Samurai Warriors 3 hits, the best Warriors game on the PS3 is Troy.
The main event features no other than the strongly-opinionated-and-frequently-ranting @waltzelf and the ever-sarcastic-and-blunt @mickeymac!
Dude that would be over pretty quick. I punch like a girl.
In unrelated-but-good news: Crysis 2 review copy sent in! I reckon I won't enjoy it, but that's ok because it's good trade in bait right now, and I have to pick up that Australian 3DS on Thursday...

I don't give two $h!ts about your review, or anyone elses for that matter. What's 'hilarious' is your attitude. It's like you think you're the expert on games or something, and everyone else who's opinion differs from yours is "wrong." Just because you're willing to overlook the flaws of a game, or call them positives, doesn't mean everyone else will. Omega Force's games are niche games with niche appeal. They're not gonna appeal to a large group of people.

Wait, so recommending a niche game is a bad thing now?
What if EliPro likes them? Then it's a pretty good recommendation. If he doesn't then game shops do have returns policies, you know.
As for my attitude - if people stopped quoting Metacritics or Gamerankings aggrigate scores like they're some kind of definitive measure of a game's quality (especially when they haven't played those games themselves), then I'll stop telling people those scores are wrong. It's not to do whether I consider myself an 'expert' or anything else.

Probably not, I just needed to vent. I'm done now, and thinking rationally, I guess there's nothing wrong with it, especially if he's got enough of a mind to look into it at least a bit before buying, which I'm sure he'd do. And hey, I'm frustrated that people put too much stoc in Metascores, too. But I'm not about to call a bunch of people 'wrong' either.

Well, fair enough - I guess "wrong" is a loaded word, but I've explained why I think the press is wrong on that particular issue before in the past.
Hey guys, im trading my Boringbox 360 in for a PS3, and what game should i play first. BTW, i don't like FPS games
I would recommend~
Uncharted (2) If you like 3D platforming and shooting Little Big Planet 2 if you like 2.5D Platforming and creating stuff 3D Dot Game Heroes if you like those top down rpg Zelda like games
There are also great games on the online store like Pacman DX Championship Edition.
@ elipro Dont listen to them!Uncharted and God of War games SUCK!!!!!!Try Marvel vs Capcom.
Way to downplay two fun, well-made franchises in favor of the weakest 2d fighter since that atrocious Mortal Kombat DC Universe nonsense. Good to know I can completely ignore any of your game recommendations forever.
@slap - pretty sure you kill the pile-of-rocks guy and gain the key from him that allows you to continue....shouldn't be too much of a sticking point if you explore around a little. Keep in mind--said stone guy will prob be the first boss that you can't deal any damage to with your current equip setup (if it was anything like mine). Be ready to try swapping in all your different weapons to see how they work--which will be a common strategy (or at least it was for me) as the game moves on given how little your character actually levels. And it's been a few months, but I think the red dot indicates locked rooms, not where you're supposed to go. I marathon-sessioned the first 7 hours of the game in like a day and haven't touched it since though...and I don't think I've even opened the map yet this playthrough

All my News and Reviews in One convenient place!
You all know the story by now. A new Dynasty Warriors game is released, it sells gangbusters in Japan, but gets trashed by Western reviewers who question why these games still get made, and who on Earth would play them.
Except on Destructoid, of course, where we actually review the games. Feel free to read on, as we review Dynasty Warriors 7.
8/10
Wow... Jim and I are of a like mind. I have to email this dude.
Woah has anyone heard about this Free Realms game? This post on the PS Blog is the first I'd heard of it and it sounds awesome! Mainly because its free I think... haha
@stro - i tried playing it on comp...granted, as usual, the Mac version didn't work, but yeah--gonna DL and check out sometime soon on PS3. Apparently it's pretty boring and kid-friendly....but it's free!
And why is Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 so expensive?! Damn, shoulda grabbed it while I had the chance. I'm NOT Missing out on the third one, that's for sure.
