Topic: Destiny 2

I did a general search for Destiny 2, I'm surprised I didn't find a thread for the game. Anywho, amid the crazy September release schedule on Switch, I completely forgot that Destiny 2 became F2P at the end of last month. Might be worth a look if you've got 88GB of free space on your PS4 hard drive.

So I put in ten hours over the weekend. Took my warlock from power level 750 to 849. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as the gradual gear progression is very well paced. Although the Destiny gunplay is still as fun as it ever has been, the enemy AI hasn't changed. All of my time was spent clearing trash mobs and completing check boxes for quests, no challenge.

I still haven't decided if I'll throw money at this or not. I assume most of the endgame requires a competent squad with a well thought out strategy? And as a gamer who prefers to play solo, attempting to play the endgame solo probably won't fly.

Still...you'd be a fool to disregard Destiny 2. It's arguably one of the best F2P games out there. On par with Warframe, Dauntless, Fortnite, etc. Bungie (free of Activision's evil clutches) is an independent studio now, so give the game a try at the very least.

Played a few more hours, got to the soft level cap of 900. Completed most of the world introduction missions. I just...don't care about this world or the characters enough to continue. The moment to moment gameplay is rock solid. But the story? I'm bored with it.
