I dont know how popular MMORPGs are around here I play World of Warcraft a few hours a week with some friends This news has got me excited about an upcoming MMORPG on both the PC and Playstation 3
The game is DC Universe Online and I have to say I was iffey about paying another company 14 dollars a month for a game but after here about this awesome voice cast I just might
First of we have Mark Hamill as the Joker. Quite possible the best Joker ever next to Heath Ledger. He did JOker in Batman Arkham Asylum as well as Batman the Animated Series and just in case you didnt know he was Luke Skywalker in Starwars.
Next up is Kevin Conroy as Batman, who of course did the voice of Batman in Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman the Animated Series.
Than we have Adam Baldwin as Superman who was Superman in Superman Doomsday.
I cant wait for this game after this announcement the rest of the voice cast can be seen here:
Very cool. Conroy IS Batman, and i'd suggest that Hamill is the better overall Joker, though obviously Ledger's portrayal (damn near perfection) and Hamill's are different in tone.
I prefer Tim Daly's Superman, but Baldwin is fine. And i hope Clancy Brown is on board as Luthor!
I think with Hamill, it's like a "Godfather" thing -- Every time he thinks he's out, the PULL HIM BACK IN!
And i imagine he did/will enjoy his work for DCUO more, as he always seemed in interviews to be a little put off by the darker tone of Arkham Asylum, especially since his portrayal was always the more "fun-loving psycho" Joker, as opposed to the "i just scared the crap out of you, now i'll bathe in your blood for fun" Joker.
Well looks like I will have to wait till after the holidays to check this one out. Not sure why for the delay but alot of people are blaming the release for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm since the release date was officially announced just a few hours before this.
Well I cant say that since I do enjoy WoW as well lol. Truthfully I am glad to see SOE delaying it rather than trying to compete with Cataclysm and than shutting down DCUO cause it didnt get the launch numbers they wanted. Finally someone smart enough not to try and compete with the launch of a new WoW expanisioon and then wonder why its not getting the numbers they wanted.
I remember Warhammer Online launched a few weeks before Blizzard released Wrath of the Lich King for WoW. I was playing Warhammer Online at the time which before that had pretty busy servers but once Lich King came out BAM!!!!! Server pop went way down and Mythic ended up closing down servers.

Well I am a bit short on money so I was wondering has anyone picked this one up and played it yet? Still thinking of giving this a try but will probably have to wait till next month to get it.

Yes, there is. Not sure about the PS3 version but I assume so.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Played about 2-3 hours and this game is pretty freaking awesome. The controls are definitely made for a console, so it takes some getting used to on PC. I'm also use to the controls for City of Heroes/Villains. The mouse works as if you are playing an FPS on PC. I chose Fire and I have a bow and arrow and the attacks so far are nice. Batman is my mentor or whatever. I've not fought any bosses yet, just run somewhere, kill a few bad guys, save a few people missions. I still haven't figured out the in game chat system. The lack of an on screen mouse is killing me lol. I'm level 5 after the amount of time I have played. By the end of the first mission I was level 3. The costume parts are a lot like WOW, you find them/buy them (and i'm guessing make them later on, i dunno) and you equip them and you see it on your character, including weapons.
This game might be better on ps3 with a headset, I can't tell yet. I do love it though. I'll post more when I'm not sleepy and I have played some more.
@Y2Josh: I dont know if you can answer this but do they have combined servers as well as system specific servers? The reason I ask is cause I have a PC and my friend has a PS3 (theres no way that his laptop could run this game) so I was wondering if theres a chance that we can play together.

It doesn't say anything about it on the server select screen. From what I've heard there are separate from each other. They do tell you which servers are PVE and which are PVP, which is something COH didn't do.
The chat system is horrible, I checked the DC Universe forums and there are lots of complaints lol. I'm sure they will update it for that soon. And I still have no idea how to team up with people, I see lots of people looking for people to take down Scarecrow though.
Ok cool I only asked cause I know back when Champions Online was being developed for PC and Xbox the said that they were going to have mixed servers that my friend and I were going to pay on. Since the canceled the Xbox version we never got a chance to try it and I got stuck with a copy of Champions Online lol.
