I thoroughly enjoyed XC2, but TW3 is one of this generation's best games.

I finished XC2 and only played a little of The Witcher 3, but I can wholeheartedly recommend the Witcher. XC2 is a great game, but it takes a WHILE to finish, and I finished it with breaks in between. Witcher seems a bit more immersive.

If you already have them simply choose what you really want to play first, otherwise you can get bored of the game without giving it a proper opportunity and only you know what you really desire to play. more.

I have only played Witcher 3 and it's a great game. I don't think it's one of the best and I haven't felt like returning to it so that I can finish, but I know it's good nonetheless unlike Skyrim which I just simply don't see it, even when it came out.

I haven't played Xenoblade 2 but it looks great.

I was totally captivated and immersed in Xenoblade 2. I put almost 200 hours into it.
I started Witcher, but just didn't really get into it, though to be fair, I might not have given it a fair chance. I only played about 9 hours.

Which type of RPG do you prefer Final Fantasy or Skyrim. If your answer is FF (JRPG) then go with Xenogears if you prefer a more western approach to your RPGs go with the Witcher

Speaking as someone who put more than 200 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 2... The Witcher 3 is the better game, by some margin. I really like both of them, though. You can’t really go wrong either way. If you like bright, cheesy shonen anime shows, XC2; if you’re more in the mood for grittier, seedier pulp fantasy, TW3. You’ll easily get 100+ hours out of both of them.

Your referring Apples to Oranges. One is single player and the other is multiple character game style. One is more American RPG and the other is JPRPG style. So two different gaming style that can't be compared as same gaming style.

well i started playing Witcher 3 last night. so far im having fun with it in the beginning. One early sidequest i screwed up failed is the one where i had to investigate a merchant murder by arrows. let the suspect get away on his horse while totally failed the side quest. Oh well lol.

I still have the male griffin thing to deal with but I am wandering around fiddling around finding treasure spots and just got the crafting paper of a serpentine sword which has a little bit of higher attack power.

Now Im at some cementary to deal with a wraith and some more treasure but i need to sell off some of the rusty swords that ive found so far

@urrutiap Ha! I also allowed that robber to escape! I wouldn’t worry about it - just accept the failure and see what happens. Games like this are so rich, I wouldn’t worry about aiming for perfection - just play the game and see what happens. That’s what makes it interesting.

Hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am!

Even though the main story in the game insists on you going to Velen, can I try to wander around in the other countries to find a few things without getting my butt kicked by Level 7 or Level 10 monsters or humans?

There was a group of 3 men that was burning a house with a female in it and i tried to fight them but they were a bit too tough for me to deal with since i was at level 4. Im still new at the game so...

Have you done everything in White Orchard, @urrutiap....? You can't get to Novigrad yet or Skellige but the lowest level stuff there would be too powerful, anyway
Where, exactly, are you in Velen? What quests do you have already & which locations, if any, have you come across there?

Here's how Im doing so far in the beginning and at Velen

Im level 4
weapons i have: Viper silver sword, the crossbow, Moonblade, couple of old longswords from White Orchard and couple of Velen swords

armor I have as of right now: Spikeroog Aketon, Kaedwini Gambeson, Cidarian Gambeson; low medium hunting boots, Medium Hunting trousers,

urrutiap

Main quest in Velen
-NIlfgaardian Connection and at the Crossroads Inn to find info about Ciri

Secondary Quests
-stuff I was fidding around involving Thou Shalt Not Pass and Fake Papers

then when I arrived in Velen, i wandered aroun to some house that was on fire where 3-4 men were burning a female elf alive which I couldnt do anything the men were like Level 7 or 10 I think. I ignored them so Im pretty sure the female elf or whatever is dead now lol.

I also need to repair my main Witcher sword but its hard to collect money up to 100+. I have a few ruby and sapphire dust stuff I could sell off to get some money so i can repair my weapon

@SwitchForce I have never undertsood why people say this. You can compare games, even when they are quite different and these two have 2 big similarities: both usually take a hundred hours and are RPGs. It doesn't matter if they are a different style of RPG with different tones and gameplay, things can simply be compared because certain aspects like enjoyment and personal experiences are attributes present in pretty much everything. Even when taking literal the example of apples and oranges, you can still compare them. We make comparisons all the time in order to choose between two or more options, even if people are unaware of it.

I understand if you see them as quite different products or aren't able to compare them yourself, but why do people have the need to say "these two aren't comparable" as something objective or worth mentioning when just here, there are many comments doing it? Regardless of people agreeing with the mentioned points, they are being compared.

Hmm, I suspect there's more you could do in White Orchard, @urrutiap.... I don't get how you'd be that short of money? Sell everything you don't definitely have any use for

Like what exactly? I think ive done enought in White Orchard and Im at level 4 and I cant think of anything else to do still in White Orchard

urrutiap

urrutiap

Besides, Im already in Velen

urrutiap

BruceCM

OK... The optional stuff available is either Witcher contracts or other requests on noticeboards or general exploring Only for the last of those, around Velen, there are some monsters & so on you'd be doing well to defeat before going to Skellige
Whereas at least the others have level guides, to give you an idea
