Topic: Will new analog sticks fix the sticking?

I recently bought a used Lite. The left analog sticks a bit, especially when moving down. I bought a Super5 OLED kit to replace the screen, which also includes new analog sticks. Apparently, they're hall effect, which I don't know what actually means, but I sure do see it around a lot. Anyway, regardless, will replacing my sticks fix the sticking issue, or is that problem deeper down in the bowels of my Switch?

P.S. concernedly, the website isn't loading. Hopefully that isn't indicative of anything bad.

@Gryffin No-one can answer that question without opening up your Switch and seeing what's inside. If nothing has been spilt or otherwise allowed inside the shell, then logic suggests replacing the sticks has a high probability of success.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@Gryffin If the sticks are physically sticking, rather than just experiencing drift, then it depends on what's causing them to stick. I imagine it's pretty likely that replacing the sticks will fix the problem, but if they're catching on some part of the case for example then it might not. If they're just drifting then it should definitely fix the problem.

To answer your question about hall effect sticks, they're a different type that work using magnets to detect the stick's position rather than physical contacts. Because there's no parts rubbing against each other, they're much less prone to wear and tear, and therefore much more durable and less likely to develop a drift problem.
