So apparently the Nvidia Shield in china have been released in an association with nintendo (another partnership) with 3 games:
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Punch Out!
Zelda: Twilight princess
All said games remastered and runs in 1080p, and each costs 10$ with the chinese variation of the SHIELD costs around 220$
I'm very optimistic guys, we were waiting for GC Virtual console now the Wii games are coming too (hopefully)

@TidusUK
Gosh...
Why are you advertising such a thing like that ?
Lately i found a lot of Users asking or spamming or advertising such a thing like that.
@Anti-Matter I don't know if you're joking or not. But this is not emulation. This is a real joint venture between Nintendo and Nvidia.
Just not for our market, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe OP should have said that this is Chinese market only for now.
As for what I think of it? It's very smart. Nintendo probably doesn't have the same leverage in terms of branding in China vs. the rest of the world, so making your brand more appealing by teaming up with your partners is pretty smart. I mean, the NVidia - Nintendo partnership worked wonders for the Switch.
@Anti-Matter
First of all i never and didn't advertised anything, it came as a news and i thought it'll make some people happy in the morning to know that Wii and GC are coming to Switch, all I've found is one accusing me of advertising and spamming... The news i got was from GS website included prices and games and i rushed to let you guys know as fast as possible does that also make GS advertising "such a thing like that"
Let's just get past over that

@neufel my mistake i should've mentioned that it's exclusive to chinese market but at least you didn't jump to false conclusions and started accusing and making me feel bad when i was just trying to make people here feel hopeful and good, such a wonderful morning start

@TidusUK Hey, I'm sorry if you took my reply as aggressive, it was not! And it wasn't a mistake, as people who wants to see piracy everywhere will see it even (and even more) if you say that this was directed as the chinese market.
I just want Wii (and Gamecube) games and a new Photo channel on Switch, but this seems to be the closest thing for now, it seems to be a very interesting device (even tough amongst those three games I like only Twilight princess)
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
@TidusUK It's not proof those games are coming to the Switch though. Do we know it's emulating the games? If so, why not more? Or are they ports?
That being said, it's probably a deal Nintendo struck with Nvidia, cheaper parts for the Switch, but Nvidia can use these games to promote their Shield. I wonder if, in the case console gaming ever takes off in China, Nintendo is able to effectively sell their own consoles. If not, they're missing out on a potentially huge market. I know the PS4 and Xbox One aren't doing too hot in China, but that's because nearly all of them play freemium games on mobile or their PC. And there's like a billion internet cafes in China, and that's where most people play PC games. I guess console gaming is either too expensive or just not appealing compared to mobile and PC.

I'm not sure it really matters either way given that the Shield and Switch are more or less the same hardware. The only real difference between the two is that the Shield is running Android which, when push comes to shove, probably doesn't mean much either. I think it's far more likely that these games being on the Shield is a by-product of already existing efforts for a Switch VC.

@neufel i wasn't offended from you mate, you kinda stood up for me too, i appreciate your manners, @anti-matter was the one who accused me of spamming and advertising and ruined the morning mood lol
I'm over it now, people like you and me makes me want to contribute more, trolls in the opposite side ruins everything

I highly doubt Nintendo would remaster these games and never release them outside of China. I think it is more a matter of when, not if, we get a version. I would buy Galaxy HD in a heartbeat.
However we should learn of VC or another similar service next year with the "full online services" when they are announced.

Ignore @Anti-Matter . He is in no way representative of ... well, anyone on this site. He's not a troll, though as you visit some more threads, you will see he has peculiar, illogical and overly fanboyish views on many things.
This product definitely seems interesting. I suppose part of Nintendo's recent initiative to get some market penetration in China. Smart move (financially) on their part.
One thing I'm curious about is how it'll translate some of the Wii motion controls. Will it have a custom controller for the Chinese market, similar to the Wii's, or will they choose games that don't particularly need it? I read Mario Galaxy is planned as well, and I remember using the Wiimote a lot to collect/shoot the star bits.
Either way, it'd be interesting to see if this can be pulled off on the Switch, as I would like to play some Gamecube games that I skipped at the time. Dare I say that I actually skipped Mario Sunshine?
