Going strictly off of games on the Nintendo Switch, I would say it's probably...

How are people able to rack up hundreds of hours on Pokémon games?

Probably post game competitive team building. I spent 300+ hours on Pokemon Shield (and I didn't even like it that much) doing just that.

Don't have the exact numbers as my Switch stopped properly keeping track of my older games but I have well over 2,000 hours in The Binding of Isaac, over 1,000 in Splatoon 2 and third would be Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 700+.

On Switch:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - 450h
Xenoblade Chronicles DE: 60h
Pure Pool (!?!?): 45h

MK8 Probably up there too, but my son uses my profile too for that, so won't be accurate

XBox:
Rocket League: 220h (Although I've played quite a few hours on PC and Switch over the years too, so probably close to 300h)
SnowRunner: 210h
PES 2021: 190h

1. Monster Hunter GU - 1505 hours.
2. Monster Hunter Rise (+Sunbreak) - 935 hours.
3. Tetris 99 - 260 hours.

I need to point out that a massive amount of MHGU's hours is from the COVID lockdown era. Like many I was furloughed for a while which eventually became a layoff (I did get called back from that luckily). That was my main time killer while at the same time clearing out some major backlog games. I have a good amount of games in the 40 - 200 hour range from that time too (like Astral Chain). Friday the 13th The Game (I had to trade it in once the servers shut down ) so I can't verify but I'm pretty confident that one had more hours than Tetris 99 by a good amount. I put a lot of time into that game during lockdown and beyond. So it's entirely possible Tetris 99 won the Bronze by default.

As per my previous post in this thread, I can't reliably answer what my three most played Switch games are.

The top two? Yes, I think I know them based off historic records - Breath of the Wild probably number one, and FIFA18 number 2.

It's the third place slot I can't be sure about. It'll be one of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Fortnite or Rocket League.

Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and MGSV are all well over 100 hours, with BotW probably being over 200

1. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition - 280 hours
2. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - 255 hours
3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - 230 hours

Technically number 1 is Smash Bros Ultimate with 1075 hours but I don't have it anymore 😅

These are my top 3:
1) Zelda: breath of the wild = 260 hours
2) Smash bros ultimate = 250 hours
3) Splatoon 2 = 180 hours

If you are talking all time that would probably be World of Warcraft. That was the only game I played for years straight at least 4 hours a day.

@Tasuki I originally responded with top Switch games, but my top two games in my whole life would probably be MMOs I played when I was young. Number 1 would be a game called Eudemons Online similar to WoW I also used to play for hours every day.

My number 3 is likely a mobile game called Love Nikki - those few minutes a day add up to 100s of hours over enough years.

It's easier to see the play time on Switch games but anyone who has ever really played an MMO probably sunk in a zillion hours. I bet plenty of people also played tons of hours on mobile games like Candy Crush or Genshin Impact or whatever. Or even Wordle.

On Switch:

1) Ring Fit Adventure (120 hours)
2) Mario Kart 8 (65 hours)
3) Splatoon 3 (60 hours)

In my high school days I had over 900 hours in Guild Wars and multiple 100s in various Battlefield and Call of Duty games

Splatoon 2- 1,045 hrs.
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition- 335 hrs.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate- 310 hrs.
