Maybe it's a prequel to a completely different game. It ends with all the land-based species being wiped out and Zoras evolving the ability to change between humanoid and squid form at will. And also forgetting how to swim.
No it ends with Ganon becoming a big ghost, creating an army of ghosts, some with more personality than others, and building a Mansion as trick to attract the next incarnation of the Hero and trap him in a picture frame.
