I finally took the time to play a little of this, about five hours or so. Ported to Switch by Nightdive Studios, Vampyr is an action/adventure/rpg. First and foremost the audio design and voicework are top notch; for a AA-budget game it feels like that's where most of the budget was spent. There are some serious Anne Rice's - The Vampire Lestat vibes in this world.

Unfortunately, the gameplay doesn't match the world building. Combat has a fair amount of jank (Bayonetta or DMC this is not). The rpg progression system is linear, enemy difficulty is segregated by zones, so you'll eventually one-shot enemies in older zones as you mop up side quests. The setting is dark, grey, foggy, all appropriate for the overall dire mood of the game...but boring.

My initial impressions are that I like this. It's probably the best game based on vampiric tropes not named Castlevania on Switch. But this game just makes me want a port of Legacy of Kain or Vampire the Masquerade for Switch very badly.
