Topic: Switch Ports of Wii U Games

Personally, I would like to see some Wii U games get ported over to Nintendo Switch. So to keep it brief, here's my top five. I'm excluding smash bros because we all know that game's coming sooner or later.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD & Twilight Princess HD
4. Pikmin 3
3. Super Mario 3D World
2. DKC Tropical Freeze
1. Super Mario Maker

What games would you guys/girls like to see come over to the switch?

I would buy Twilight princess HD immediately. Twilight Princess is the only Zelda game I have ever really liked.
I'm fine with WiiU ports, but I like a lot more Wii games and GameCube games, so I'd like Wii and Gamecube ports even more (along with new games of course!!)

Tropical Freeze + Country Returns HD Deluxe Set
Mario Maker DX

I would love to see a Bayo 1+2 and Wind Waker HD port for Switch. One of Twilight Princess HD as well but only for completion's sake. Never liked that game.

I'd honestly rather have sequels to Pikmin and Mario Maker.

Bayonettas, StarFox Zero, W101 and the Zeldas and I'm good.

I don't want to see any. If people wanted those games badly enough they should have bought a Wii U. Some will say, "portability". I say get the boat. And Switch ports will devalue the Wii U versions.

I have a pretty decent wii u library but for whatever reason never got Mario Kart, Pokken or Smash. So I'm pretty happy right now and will be even more when smash is out (haven't played since N64)

The Wii U's library can stay on the Wii U. We've had enough ports. Smash could come I suppose, assuming they provide new content, but that's it.

to be fair, I did say SOME games. Hell, if they can port Mariokart 8 and Pokken Tournament over to the Wii U, then why not bring over both WW and TP HD?

@Proust ports are typically done by third parties are smaller teams in the studio and not the main teams working on the new games

I wouldn't mind seeing Splatoon 1, Mario Maker, or Captain Toad make its way to Switch, but for the most part I'd rather not see a lot of Wii U ports, the Wii U has one of the most mediocre Nintendo lineups ever and most of those games should remain in the past where they belong.

The only Wii U ports I want to see are Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

Look man, I want new games as well, but I'm okay with ports as long as Nintendo (as well as any other company) doesn't go overboard with it.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE but ports? Lol
Dont worry they'll be more to come for Switch. I want the few worth supporting like P* games and the the last two true Zeldas would be awesome on Switch. WW and TP are far better than BOTW imo. Theyre actually pure Zelda games.

@8-Bit_Zorldo I generally agree with your point, but Xenoblade had a pretty different situation than Wii U games in that the Wii is one of the greatest selling systems of all time. The game's biggest flaw (in the US primarily) was it's limited release, which you could argue was one of the primary reasons to port it in the first place. Wii U games had little chance to succeed due to the poor install base. Xenoblade (apparently) was limited by demand more than anything else.

That said, can we just stop asking for ports? I understand people want some Wii U games, but they're already available. Ports take effort from other games, and whether that work is outsourced or not somebody has to do that work instead of working on something new. And if the games were good enough to demand a purchase, people would have bought those games when they first released.

I think Smash is about the only game that would deserve a port at this point, and it would need the Mario Kart treatment of having the DLC included plus some other content (new characters/stages and a significantly improved stage creator are good starters). And the only reason I'd happily take that port is because we (according to Sakurai) probably wouldn't get another one otherwise, at least not with the lead man behind the series involved.

I always felt the WiiU had more top games than any other Nintendo system.

Switch games list,

Legend of Zelda BotW, Human resource machine, NBA Playgrounds, Street Fighter 2, Super Bomberman R, Snipperclips, Overcooked, World of Goo.

I have my Wii with all the Gamecube accessories it needs and all my favourite Wii and Gamecube (and PS2) games are kept in a box near my bed in my bedroom, but for me it would really be boring to get my Wii, plug all its cables and get it functional to enjoy its games nowadays. I sold my Wii U shortly after I bought my Switch, I never liked it. I wouldn't feel betrayed if they start making ports from Wii and Gamecube, I would instead feel happy to have a more convenient way to enjoy them again in the latest console.

PS: as others said ports are never made by developers of the new important games, so new games would not be affected

Have you ever tried to play Switch with friends on the party? If yes, the official dock is expected to help. However, does it really work? I have tried to take it to our friends’ and play with it. But it really sucks. Inconvenient. Bulk. Even need a backpack to take it. Intolerable. So I googled ans found a new adapter Nyko on E3, pretty great. Share it with you guys.
But this adapter is accessible only after October, three months later. Then I found another awesome adapter. Also works well. You can check it here.
