How is there not a thread for this wonderful game? Although I hold Axiom Verge in higher regard, Steamworld Dig 2 is one of the finest metroidvania games I've played recently. Steamworld Heist and soon Steamworld Quest, developer Image & Form have been doing some mighty fine work over the past decade. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't purchased and made them a second party developer by now.

I played n completed steamworld dig 2 n was left wanting. the last boss was a let down n total push over. just as the games difficulty rose to a decent challenge the game was over. not to mention the lack of any boss battles beyond the first n last one. I had a good time playing through it but felt the game was more aimed towards younger gamers more then somebody who eats 2d platformers for breakfast. it was a polished product with some sweet level design for sure but was missing that extra something. no end game content. too easy.. anyway on the other hand I think axiom verge is top notch!

@Solomon18 I agree with Dig 2 being much too short, though I'm not sure if that's a failing of the game or a sign that the game was really really good and I didn't want it to end. But I agree, it was going places and then just....stopped.... I was really disappointed it was over because it was just so great otherwise. I don't even think it was necessarily too easy....just, too short, where it stopped just as all the systems and features were coming into play.

@NEStalgia yeah it felt like the game just hit its stride then it just up and ended. some post game content would of went a long way in pushing the games status from good to great. I wanted to keep digging so hopefully an epic sequel might come one day..

@Magician There already was a thread for this game made not too long ago. I would suggest looking harder before making a new topic. SteamWorld Dig 2 Thread: https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/steamworld...

I did use the search function before starting this thread. Clearly either I goofed or the search engine goofed. Either way, might as well merge this thread or delete it outright. Thanks for providing a link to the older thread.

@Solomon18 I reviewed this game myself just the other day. I concluded that it's "a joy to play and a perfect introduction to the metroidvania genre" but it was definitely on the easy side. I played it after Hollow Knight and it was quite a contrast!
