So I was wondering if you guys think Super Mario World will be released on the eShop for the switch?

As we can see Nintendo are once again releasing the old time classics onto the eShop for the switch, much like they did for the 3DS and Wii. So I was wondering if they will be releasing Super Mario World or maybe even Donkey Kong Country?

I just think that those SNES games are really fun to play and to bring them back to such a great console like the switch would be awesome. Anyway, tell me what you think and if you reckon they will/won't I'll be interested to see your opinion.

Almost definitely. But I doubt it's their first priority. Getting gamecube games running would be more of a selling point for the console.

Yass! I'm very excited for it's release, as soon as it hits the eShop I'm buying it. Thanks for the response

I hope that they will release them for purchase. Right now it is very likely that they will be available at some point but nobody can know yet if they will be available for purchase for everyone or only available to play only fir those who will pay a subscription. I hate this subscription thing, I have no interest in online services and multiplayer gaming but I want to collect retrogames I love on Switch.

But to tell the truth Super Mario World won't be my priority, it is one if the Mario games I like the least. Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Bors 3 would be much better for me ^_^

@LuckyLand From what I have heard it sounds like Nintendo is planning to make virtual console games a part of their incentive for their online service. Sadly the days of downloading their games seems to be going away with the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS.

I honestly don't think the Switch will have VC games in the sense that we know them as. If they were they probably would have them already.

@Tasuki Honestly, my best advice for people who want to collect a lot of Virtual Console games right now: buy yourself an original Wii for cheap or a Wii U and download the VC games off of that. The Wii Store that you get VC games from will be shut down by the end of 2018, and the Wii U is probably the most complete collection you can get outside of that. If you want it portable, get a 3DS and download the VC games off of that, but I would definitely recommend jumping on the original Wii right now while you still can.

I have a Wii (I love the first Wii!) and a New 3DS (I somewhat like it but not as much as Wii) and I have many Virtual console games for them (SNes and Gameboy virtual consoles are one of the main reasons why I like New 3DS!!!!) but now that I have Switch I would like to have all my favourite games on it, it is not convenient to keep plugged to the tv so many different devices. I already have my computer on the same tv where I use my Switch dock too and I think I could buy a PS4 in the near future too because I'd like to play God of war 4. I love Wii, I want to keep it for nostalgia reasons but really I don't want to use it anymore. I also have Retroarch on computer, I can play retrogames if I want, but I'd like to have them on Switch anyway. This is my main console right now and I hope it will be for a long time and that the next one will be Switch 2 so I want to have as much of my favourite games as I can on it (I know I can't have God of war 2 on it, I'm not asking for God of war 2 or things like that, I'm asking for games that either were made by Nintendo or at least have already been released on a Nintendo console before!)
