Correction. This is not the demo but the Player application that will let you download and play games created by other players of the game.
And it supports English.
This is my #1 anticipated game for 2019. I haven't played a game in the series since the first entry back on the PS1. In a year full of awesome rpg games scheduled for release I fear RPG Maker MV might get lost in the shuffle. Dragon Quest XI, Final Fantasy X/X-2 and XII, Pokemon 2019, etc.
@BruceCM - Yes yes, the hype is still real. Slated for a September release, RPG Maker has slipped to being my second most anticipated game of 2019 after the recent Dead or School announcement. But my preorder for the LE directly from NIS America is in and I greatly look forward to crafting my own adventure.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,529 games (as of November 20th, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 3 games (as of November 23rd, 2025)
Since I haven't seen any official announcement from NISA themselves since they delayed it .... Dunno where those places might get their date from but I'd be happy if it does come before end of the year
Absolutely. As the Miyamoto quote goes, "a delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever." I appreciate NIS for taking their time and making an effort when they could have easily just sent RPG Maker MV to die. And so my #2 most anticipated game of 2019 has become my #1 anticipated game for 2020.
Wished I could get back into this series...I think I still have the Steam version. I figured it would've been removed since I asked for a refund via Humble, but...nope. Anyways yeah...
I think part of the reason is that I can never find the sprites/graphics I want, and I lose interest after wasting time trying to find something. >.<

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Oh, dear, @Magician .... What do you suppose is causing so many problems with that?
I can only assume, my guess is that the Switch version of RPG Maker MV has serious issues with save data corruption. And rather than just pushing the game out regardless of that issue, NISA is attempting to resolve the issue before releasing the game in the west. But that issue didn't stop NISJ from pushing the game out in Japan. The optimist in me hopes that the delay means they're continuing to add more content from the PC version to the console version.

I wanted to get this game in early 2018 when it was supposed to come out, but if it has a savedata corruption bug I gladly wait forever, because it's not just a game that you can start over from scratch.
This is a game where you put tenthousands of hours in. Losing that data is like losing a considerable amount of your real life.
Much to my delight, today NISA sent out an email confirming that RPG Maker MV's release is locked in for September. It looks as though the delay into December listed by Gamefly was inaccurate. I suppose it's time to get rolling on the script for the game I'll be making.

The RPG Maker MV "player" is an application that lets you play games built by folks who bought the toolkit. You should be able to go to your eShop's "recent releases" and download it there.
