Hi everyone. I am looking for suggestions for a racing game. I have Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, but I tend to enjoy racing games that you earn money and use it to purchase new vehicles and/or upgrade your vehicles. I used to enjoy Gran Turismo and Midnight Club back in the day on PlayStation. Are there any like that on switch? Thanks in advance everyone!

@ChoachMcGoach GRID Autosport is the most Gran Turismo like, but it doesn't have the car buying system like you're looking for. You pick a class of race, and get the choice of like 2, 3, or 4 cars. As you progress, you will get access to better car classes. Like gran trusimo, though, you can tune the cars a bit, and asists, and AI difficulty. So, you can play like a more racing sim, if that's what you're after. But if you want a more arcade style, you can bump up the assists. You probably should find a review. It's been too long sing I've played it to remember specifics.

On lower spec cars, the Switch's digital triggers floor the throttle too much and tend to spin the wheels, and you'll want to use analog stick throttle, or a gamecube controller(they have analog triggers)(the game has game cube controller support).

There is online racing, but it's full damage on(no options), and 90% of the time, you're matched with psychopath kids or other racers that can only win buy hitting you. If you get hit, or they rear-end you going into a turn, you likely will get major damage to steering and your race is worthless at that point.

Others here will have other suggestions for more arcade racing genre. I only wanted a gran turismo like sim, and this is the the best in that respect.

Thanks for the suggestion WoomyNNYes. I will definitely check out a video review of this game and see what I think. Not sure why racing games went away from the “building” type game. It’s so fun that way.
Not sure how old you are, and I very well may be again myself here, but when I was a kid I had a game on the original NES that was called “Built to Win”. I think of that game often because I loved it so much. It was exactly that - Enter races to win money to buy cars and upgrades to enter better races for more $ etc.
Oh well. Thanks again.
