Hello. I have just purchased a slightly used Switch and it has 3 games on it from the E-shop not hard copy's. I am currently downloading Zelda: Breath of the wild as it may have just been bought and not installed. I have made my own user for the console. My question is this, that if I delete the original buyer's user profile will I still have the games be there for me to play with just my new user? Or will they be gone along with the deleted user. And if they would be deleted is there a way to change the E-mail on the primary user to my own along with all other details?
This is a muddy issue, because the terms of use forbids transferring accounts to other parties, such as when somebody sells their console to another person. It could very well just be the case that the original owner had forgotten to format the system and/or delete their user profile from the console, hence why those three games are able to be redownloaded from the eShop.
While you could possibly change the account details to your advantage, the original owner may later try to log in with those details on another Switch console, and according to the terms of use, they will have a right to that account (and perhaps any additional games that may have been purchased).
I think you ought to cut your losses, delete that user account, and start fresh.
If the previous user's account is deleted, the games will no longer be playable unless they are purchased via another active account on your console. Or you can leave that user account on your system and play the games that they had previously purchased.
