So the update upon me clearing the pirate world: The frame rate still isn't locked in both modes (nothing that harms gameplay, mind you) but Resolution mode (still having negligible graphical differences at least on my end) no longer feel as uncomfortable/as laggy from before to play. Which is nice.
Chogokin Pac Man looks cool.
As soon you get the jukebox, it is assessable in the hub world which you can play any song in the game, even those you haven't encountered yet! I feel like bumping up my review of this game to an 8 just for that jukebox.... Hey, wait a minute, This also has the old Credits and Gallery from the PS1 release! Including Corsair's Cove (Another version)?...why does this fade out before it finishes? Speaking of songs...
Woah! The music certainly has changed! You'll be feeling that difference. The difference will be most effective upon hearing the running section of the HMS Windbag boss.
This is a pretty cool update all around. This is worth just paying for that jukebox!
I finally got this game and had a great time with it. Still has a few weird depth-perception and unfair moments, but it’s overall a lot more breezy than the original.
Something weird happened to my save file though, after my first session (which lasted around 47 minutes, I know because I recorded the entire playthrough), when I booted the game back up the next day, the time counter on the file went straight up to 70 HOURS played!
Is that a known issue? I have no idea what happened there…
@Eel : I've noticed similar happened with Digimon Cyber Sleuth on Switch. Time spent in sleep mode seems to count as "time played", though 70 hours is a touch excessive. This seems to be a recurring issue with Bandai Namco's games on Switch. But maybe time just goes faster in sleep mode. Perhaps Nintendo has been patching in time travel mechanisms into the Switch through their often vague "stability" updates?
Sleep time would be a good theory, but if it were that I’d expect it to have at least an entire week by now. (Also it only happened after that first session). So I suppose Namco games just work on a different scale of time our brains can’t comprehend!
It reminds me of Pokémon Black and White (and their sequels) on the DS. If you left the communication features turned on with those games, the in-game timer would continue counting even if you closed the DS, so I always had hundreds of hours in every save file.

For me it was one of the levels in the final world, the one that was filled with those floating coffin platforms (a largely outdoor level). Think I lost 20-30 lives trying to clear that one due to misjudged jumps.
Really wasn't a big deal as I had well over 90 lives stocked up (the game gives 'em away like candy) & no other part of the game did me that way, but that level was trying, lol.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I recently heard that Scott Rogers, one of the original Pac-Man World devs, is battling Stage 3 cancer. I am very nostalgic for Pac-Man World and the excellent Re-Pac remake reminded me how dear the game is to me. It is my hope that he will be able to beat this illness and recover as soon as possible. If you're a fan of Roger's work and want to help out, here is his GoFundMe page which will be used to cover costs from medical treatments.
