Topic: Only able to use one 3rd party gyro control at a time???

First post after getting a new switch.
Hopefully a quick one that may be known to hundreds before me having similar issues...

I bought a couple 3rd party controllers, both wit gyro control.
When using in single player on Mario kart 8 deluxe, the gyro control works on both controls.
When I pair the second controller up for multi-player, no matter in which order I seem to connect, only the first player gyro control works. Tested with a mix of 3rd party and joy-con. 2 x 3rd party. Swapping p1 and p2 controllers - I can still only get one 3rd party controller to support gyro controls at a time.

IS this a known thing, or am I missing something blindingly obvious I'm doing wrong (highly likely!!)

@kevinmcd01 Maybe this is your issue:

In Mario Kart 8, tilt control steering can toggled on/off for each individual player. Press (+) button while in kart selection page, you'll see the kart stats and three options to toggle on/off: Smart Steering, Tilt Controls, Auto-Accelerate.

While racing, you can toggle the same three options in the pause menu. Press (+) to pause, turn tilt control on/off in there.

kart selection page, see the options at bottom of kart stats graph. The middle option is tilt control.
