@TheBigBlue Is it really ever going to be great if none of the showcases even recognise they’re part of his fantasy? He barely gets any decent announcements to be revealed himself.

It seems so obvious in hindsight, can't believe I forgot about it. The reason there had to be a general Direct this week was Nintendo's AGM today. If there wasn't a general Direct all the questions at the meeting would be about the gigantic drought after Pikmin 4 in the form of stuff like "where's Switch 2?" and "what does Switch have to offer during the holiday season?".
The fact they put N in the thumbnail makes me think that they're predicting the 2024 Unova games to be shown, when that's 100% not happening. They'll wait for February 2024 to show them off, and wouldn't show them in a Presents that is trying to hype up the SV DLC.

@Grumblevolcano I doubt there'll be anything on the Detective Pikachu movie, given the whole writer's and actors strike going on in Hollywood. It probably delayed that film indefinitely.

So now we have a release date for The Teal Mask (September 13th), I predict the next general Direct will be on the week beginning September 18th (most likely 19th or 20th). Nintendo the past few years for the February and September Directs generally had release something and then soon after was general Direct:
Fire Emblem Engage (January 20th 2023) -> General Direct (February 8th 2023)
Splatoon 3 (September 9th 2022) -> General Direct (September 13th 2022)
Pokemon Legends Arceus (January 28th 2022) -> General Direct (February 9th 2022)
WarioWare Get It Together (September 10th 2021) -> General Direct (September 23rd 2021)
3D World (February 13th 2021) -> General Direct (February 17th 2021)
The Teal Mask is September's big release so it would fit in with the rest of the timings.
I just want a September Direct at this point. I do find it interesting that we seem to have a lot that's still coming in 2024. I think I've said it here before, but I really don't think the Switch is going to have a software drought like other home consoles before it. Those had handheld games to supplement the schedule. The Switch is just the Switch.
Plus we still don't know anything about these possible titles.
Metroid Prime 4
Peach Game
Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon Switch
The Rumored FE4 Remake
Possible TOTK DLC
Splatoon 3 DLC
Well this is certainly an uh.....interesting development: a portion of today's Pokemon Presents appears to have used a section from a fan-made remix of the Area Zero theme 😬 You have two of the best composers in the business in Toby Fox and Go Ichinose and you didn't bring them on make a short trailer-fied version of the most iconic song in the game?
