I've been seeing people debating from all corners of the internet on what this presumed 'remake of a SNES classic' could be, including (but not limited to) Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Mario RPG, hell; I've even seen Mario World get tossed about.
But do you want to know what I think it might be? It's the game nobody expects.
@TheBigBlue that's mainly why I held off on any purchases during the sale. I had a small inkling there would be a direct. I nearly bought Live a Live too. Eh oh well, at least you'll have some games to look forward to, hopefully.
@GreenNinja500 you probably mean Persona 3 Reload, because Persona 3 is already on NS.

https://www.change.org/p/anmtvla-pokemonlatam-español-latino-en-los-juegos-de-pokémon - let's help this petition for Latin American Spanish be add to Pokémon games and with that may increase chance that in future Pokémon games adds more languages. :)
@StarPoint I think that's a good point, I think a tease that DLC is coming might be enough.
Regarding the Zelda ports, I think they will hold them (Wind Waker and Twilight Princess) back for the Switch 2. The next new 3D Zelda game will be 2028-2031 so they'll want some games to fill the gap. Hopefully we get full on Metroid Prime Remaster style releases plus a new 2D game and hopefully a Zelda Dungeon maker...throw in a port of A Link Between Worlds or the one/many of the DS titles and there is enough for one Zelda release per year until when we could expect a new 3D Zelda.
Although this isn't a Partner Direct per se, like the Playstation Showcase last month, mostly third party stuffs will be on display. First party announcements will be threadbare. As for a 2D remake of an SNES classic? It may as well be Super Mario World; the best 2D Mario Nintendo ever made.
@Magician I agree. We’ve already seen games like Persona 3 reload and Crash team rumble accidentally revealed they are getting switch ports, prime direct showcase candidates right there. I’m keeping my expectations relatively moderate for this one. I already see people saying the likes of Metroid Prime 4 will be a lock. Yeah right. That’s delusion, and A very good way to get disappointed. I think the third party games will be the meat and potatoes of the event, and the select first party games will be the headliners.
Both Japan and USA said Nintendo will be bullish for the rest of the year. I'm looking forward to seeing bulish Nintendo (I dare say those waiting for new hardware aren't lol.)
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
Direct starts with Mario platformer (launches November)
1st party headlines for unannounced stuff: Kid Icarus Uprising (October), Mario Party Superstars DLC or sequel (October), Tomodachi Life (December), DKC Returns HD (December)
1st party headlines for announced stuff: Everybody 1-2-Switch gameplay reveal, Pikmin 4, MK8 Deluxe DLC wave 5 (June), Splatoon 3 Side Order (August)
Mario Baseball (August) and an unannounced Square Enix game ends up getting big spotlights
Sparks of Hope DLC gets a release date (definitely wave 2 though they may showcase the Rayman DLC more)
A wide variety of 3rd party releases of which these seem guaranteed: Persona 3 Reload, Metaphor Re-Fantazio
Direct closes with Metroid: Metroid Prime 2 (shadow drop), Metroid Prime 3 (September), Metroid Prime 4 (Early 2024)
The heavy 3DS focus in my predictions is because the 3DS eshop was shut down in March so I feel that just like Capcom saved the Ace Attorney 3DS games, Nintendo will save more 3DS games by releasing them on Switch (don't see any more Wii U ports happening until next year though). As for Mario Party, it feels suspicious that Mario Party 1+2 appeared on NSO in November last year yet Mario Party 3 is still absent so I think there's Superstars DLC or a sequel that'll release close to Mario Party 3 being added to NSO.
@Magician Soapstars, Splatoon 3 players are probably fed up of the Tenta Missile spam with the recent Splatoon 3 update by now (Splatana Wiper Deco really broke the balancing)
On a more serious note, out of those 2 I'd say Chrono is more likely to get the spotlight treatment though both could appear in the Direct.
I don’t see the 2D Mario thing happening just because a pyoro on twitter said so. It’s far too late in the switch’s lifespan. That’s a next Gen release right there. The snes remake is actually realistic because Square Enix remakes a ton of their retro catalog like FF7 a million times
The only reason TOTK came so late is because it got delayed twice, I assume Pikmin 4 also had a struggled development cycle because of Covid and the fact it was originally a Wii u title
Once again Nintendo proves themselves to be unpredictable. After skipping June the last 2 times E3 was cancelled now they have a June Direct.
I'm honestly just expecting nothing here. It feels like the generation is almost over, so anything we get might be a bonus. And well, if I'm wrong about that, I'll just be pleasantly surprised by whatever we do get.
The only prediction that I have is the Persona 3 Remake. I got nothing outside of that lol. This might be for the better because I'll end up being even more surprised by any new reveals 😂
@TheBigBlue Honestly? I think the opposite. Arround the Wii generation, 2D Mario clearly sold more than 3D Mario but nowadays it's the opposite. At the very least looking at the sales of Super Mario Maker 2 or New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. And 2D Mario is also easier to develop than a 3D one so a 2D Mario game at the end of the life of a console is not impossible. I see that more possible than a 3D Mario at the very least.
Also, it's true that Square remakes their old games a lot recently (no complaints there honestly...) but seeing how Mario RPG games are basically dead, with the Mario+Luigi developer long gone and Mario+Rabbids also probably dead (since Ubisoft said it didn't sell amazingly and such), it'd make perfect sense to remake Mario RPG.
