Nintendo Switch is NOT designed to play MP3.

@ragman7777 So far, it seems Nintendo wants the Switch to be a gaming machine and not much else. They could offer more streaming services, but they haven't. With kids & people getting so much screen time, I think maybe it was a conscious effort to limit screen time (if there's any logic to that?). It's probably also easier to mainain console security if people aren't putting media files on the the console.

3DS/2DS systems can play MP3s, but not the Switch, and I strongly doubt that Nintendo will ever add such functionality.

Porygon did nothing wrong.

The 3DS seemed more like it was intended to be an all around entertainment system with the ability to not only play games but also listen to music, watch videos and movies, surf the internet, interact with other users through MiiVerse, and so on. The Switch, on the other hand, is strictly a video game console.
