Topic: N64 NSO Controls

There's a handful of N64 games on the NSO + Expansion Pack that really make me want to buy it, but I'm concerned about the controls. The N64 controller was pretty unique and I'm curious if it translates to the pro controller at all or if it's really awkward.

From what I've heard, some games have awkward controls, and some games are fine. It's a shame that this service doesn't have remappable buttons, which would fix this issue entirely.

I would probably look up which games you want to play on the service and see if there is any feedback regarding the controls or anything.

@KimBread i believe you can still remap buttons on the pro controller through the system menu, but i might be wrong

You can remap controller buttons at the system level in System Settings, but that won't be perfect as some inputs can't be remapped like you might want. For instance c-up requires you to either tilt the right stick up or press ZR+X, so it can't be remapped to a single button.

For what it's worth though, I've played a lot of Ocarina of Time and Paper Mario with the Pro Controller and haven't had any real problems with the control scheme in them.

@faint Well, if Winback is the only unadaptable game, I think I can live with that lol.
