Hello, recently I have been having issues connecting my Switch Lite to the Internet. It started last week on Tuesday.

I was playing ACNH on it all morning, and it was connecting to my wifi just fine, no problems.

Once my Switch was running low on battery, I decided to charge and and put it on sleep mode. Fast forward a couple hours and it is completely charged. I take it off the charger and it's not connected to my wifi. I don't think much of it and decided to reconnect it.

It would not reconnect at all and wouldn't even go past the console to network part of the connection test.

I restarted my router and it still did not work. I decided to just turn it off entirely and leave it alone. Then on Wednesday, I turned it back on and tried connecting it to the Internet and it was working again for a little bit, so I played on it while I could.

Then I put it away and left it on sleep mode again. Later that night, I wanted to update ACNH after my bf told me the update was available now.

I turned on my Switch to update ACNH and it was not connected to the Internet. I tried reconnecting it and it did not work. I tried to search for networks and no networks showed up.

I tried to manually set up the connection. Still nothing. Restarted my router again, nothing. I even tried turning my console completely off and turning it back on, restarting it, basically I tried every suggestion that was given and nothing has worked.

My Switch has not been connecting to the Internet since Wednesday night of last week.

It's so weird that my Switch will not connect to anything, but my phone, chromebook, 3DS, etc will. I even tried to chat and call Nintendo and that was no help whatsoever.

I really don't want to factory reset because I'm afraid I will lose all my save data and my island in ACNH. I've worked so hard on my island and don't want to lose it due to some crummy Internet issue.

I don't know what to do anymore. I really need the Internet because without it, my Switch is useless and I'm wasting days of my online subscription that I paid for.

Update: Sent my Switch in for repair and awaiting results. Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to my question! I seriously appreciate it!

@Naga I don't think a factory reset will be your solution. So, hold off on that drastic measure. Since I joined here a few years ago, I've learned that If nintendo support troubleshooting pages can't solve it, and calling Nintendo can't solve it, then that likely indicates hardware failure, which would need repair. If that's the case, it won't matter how good the inside rep is at Nintendo, if it needs repair, it needs repair. If you've got a failing part, I'm sorry to hear.

edit: There have been one or two people in the forum here, their Switch's stopped connecting to wifi, and repair was their solution. It doesn't seem common, but it's happened. One was in Australia. Can't recall where the other one was.

I’ve also had really positive experiences with their helpline. Definitely give it a try.

Have you gotten a new router?
Are any other connected devices running poorly?
Is the channel in your router settings automatic?
Have you been able to connect to any other wifi or mobile hotspot network?

Did you restart the game or now restarting? That would be first thing to do and check your wifi settings before doing a wipe of the system. And if you get wifi check for system update before loading games.

Can you see any networks on the internet settings page? If not, then it may be the wifi chip of your Switch. I've experienced a laptop's wifi chip die unexpectedly but it was easier to solve that one with a usb dongle. I haven't read much about replacing the Switch's wifi chip but I remember vaguely a teardown video showed where it is located.
