Topic: My games library and subscription on a lite and an original at same time?

I’m now an expat and do a lot of travelling. I’m considering getting a switch lite to augment my original switch and then when my daughter is old enough we could play together.

However, if I put my profile on to the switch can it exist on both consoles at the same time? And as my library is all digital can i put my games on both devices?

Hello. You can put your profile on two Switch consoles at once. However, the whole thing is pretty complicated, specially if we talk about "sharing games".

You must know that if you link another Switch with your account, that console will be considered as a "secondary console". This is very important because, sadly, there is no such thing as "downloading a game in both consoles". Thank you for the informative reply. Shame It’s this way. I would have bought a lite to travel with but it would mainly be used on aeroplanes so May as well just stick with the original.

@norwichred You could set the Lite to Primary like some of us do, then the Original to Secondary

Having done some more reading this is what I will do for sure. Have just picked up a lite now.

Yes I have no problems playing with my lite as primary and my original as a secondary console.

I just need to make sure my save dates are up to date on whichever console I'm currently using.

Sorry if it has to be this way. Nintendo is a good company, but they are very restrictive with the online capacities of their consoles.
