I am thinking of picking this game up but before I do I was wondering do I need to purchase extra Joy Cons for multiplayer? I have the two that came with my Switch plus a Pro Controller but I was wondering if for some events every player needs a joy con.
Thanks

Well, if you wanted to play 4 player, two Joy-Con and a Pro is only three. I'd say buying another pair of Joy-Con wouldn't hurt, especially if you plan on playing with others in the future.
I believe motion controls are optional, so you should be fine with what you have now. If you did, however, wish to play with motion controls, then perhaps you may need another pair, as some activities may require two Joy-Con per player.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
Mario Sonic 2020 can do split joy-con 2 player. You can use the Left & Right joy-cons as individual controllers. Or you can use joy-cons as one controller(on the joy-con grip) & the pro controller for multiplayer.
-"Play any way you want on your Nintendo Switch™. We’re talking motion and button controls, single and dual Joy-Con™, single-player and multiplayer, local split-screen and online!"
-In the details toward the bottom of game's page, you can also see the Supported Play Modes icons to see TV, Tabletop split joycon, and handheld. (the same details are on the eshop, and the back of game case, if you're at a store.)
I asked this question in my own Mario & Sonic Announcer Forum, but I only got 1 response there, so I’m hoping to get more responses here.
So, this is something that’s been on my mind for a while and I can’t seem to find answers online.
Does anyone know what happened to the old Mario and Sonic Announcer?
In the older Mario and Sonic games, (Vancouver 2010 to Sochi 2014), there was the same announcer, and he was the same announcer for each game, but he seems to be MIA ever since Sochi 2014. Ever since Rio 2016, there seems to be a different voice announcer for each new Mario & Sonic game.
His “name” is runblebee.
In case you don’t know who I’m talking about, here’s a video of how he sounds:
Also, I hope you don’t you mind me using your Mario & Sonic Forum, Tasuki.
Please give Ninjala a chance, guys. 🤔

Also, if I don't respond to your post within a day (or two), don't worry, I'm not ignoring you. I'm going to be busy, though I will do my best to respond in a timely fashion.
