I've played it on iOS, but not played any of the previous games, so don't know how to compare. For a game on mobile, I thought it was outstanding. As a Switch game, I wouldn't be as enthusiastic. It's very charming, beautifully voiced and animated, with a silly story and forehead-smacking puzzles, but it won't live long in the memory. A 7/10 for me.
How can you save a level? My daughter got this for Xmas and keeps loosing her level each time switches off. We can’t figure out how to save?...help please!
@AM48 I’ve only got the 3DS version so I’m not sure if it’s the same way of saving. Just tap the suitcase in the bottom corner then tap save in the top right corner.
Love the Layton series and really hope they make a follow up to this game. I’ve seen part of the anime series and it seems to tell more about Layton’s story than the game does. It’s been a while now since this game was released but I still have hope!
I've got this but have not played it much. Its definitely not as good as the original Layton but its still enjoyable. I'm only a short way into it though.
I hope they make some more Layton titles for the Switch as I find playing it on there is a real joy. I also secretly hope that they port over the previous titles, that would be brill.
I really love this game. Beautifully animations and voices are used in the game. I don't see it as a game but more as an visual novel that you read. Nice to find the hint coins and the puzzles are sometimes easy and sometimes difficult. I play the game in Dutch. Sometimes the descriptions of the puzzels are not that well explained in my opinion. At the moment I am in case 6, I believe there are twelve of them and I played around the 20 ours.
The first case is also available for free on iOS. I don't know about android.
And as Pink_Yoshi says, I also hope the will port the previous titles.
I’ve finally got around to finishing this and it feels like a step down from the previous games. It’s sad as I loved the originals.
It’s still has charm, it’s presentation is lovely and it’s new characters I took to quickly but the cases are so short and small, they really lack the barmy mysteries of the past games. I also found the puzzles themselves too easy, most of them I knew straight away.
I've started playing this recently and have only completed the first case so far.
Reason for is that I have been playing the daily puzzles for a little while now. I have already clocked in about 21 hours.
I have completed all of the daily puzzles except for the right-turning remote controlled car and stacking puzzles, which I find to be far too difficult. While I haven't used any guides up until this point, I am tempted to make an except in this case...
I look forward to playing through the game proper in the coming weeks. I have enjoyed what I have played of it so far. The music is fantastic. I'm not expecting the story or puzzles to be anywhere near the level of previous Professor Layton games, but I know that I will enjoy it all the same.
I haven't yet completed Miracle Mask, and by extension, I haven't started playing Azran Legacy or the Ace Attorney crossovers yet.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
