Pine looks awesome from videos and screenshots, but do the technical issues make it not worth the price? Is it even playable? The purchase I regret the most this generation was Ark: Survival Evolved, absoloutely unplayable in handheld mode. It literally crashed every 3 minutes.

I love BOTW and pine looks similar. Shall I pick it up?

@BongoBongo123 If you're going to buy it, set your bar low. Don't expect anything deep. I'm not saying it's bad, but when you buy non-triple-A game, they've got less budget(typically). Nintendo Life gave it a 4. If you're really curious, just be ready to to lose the money. That's how I go into low budget, flawed, or iffy games. If you're dying for something new, that New Super Lucky's Tale demo is really good. That's not similar to BOTW, but it is a well recieved game that's worth a try. I was jonesing for a something to scratch the BOTW itch, but I came to the conclusion, that's a really tall order. Someone else may chime in with a recommendation along the line of what you're looking for.

Did you get Mario Odyssey? I was highly skeptical of that, and really loved that game. It's a joy to play.

If you did want an opinion, I think you can find something else more fun to spend $25 on.

EDIT: I asked Nintendo Life the question you're asking, and that yielded this article. The end of the article also has links to best-of lists for most of genres

@BongoBongo123 This is like your third post asking if you should get Pine (I remember you because of the Rime profile pic and I love Rime haha). If you're that interested in it that you keep posing about it, then maybe just go for it, but in all three threads, people have been giving you advice that the technical issues are not minor, they will affect your gameplay, and that it might be best to avoid it. Or at least wait for a decent sale.

If you're looking for something Zelda-like or open world, there are other decent options. If you've never played Okami, I think it's totally worth it. It's a bit more like the older 3D Zeldas than BotW, but still very good. Hob is another game in that same boat. I've heard pretty good things about both Darksiders games, though I've never played those. I'm sure there are more, too. Sykrim I guess, if you've somehow never played that.

Thanks for the advice. I've decided to take the plunge and just buy the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It's heavily discounted on the EU eshop at the moment. Heard great things about it. Huge download size though.

Nice! That's a solid choice for sure. Don't think you can go wrong with that one.
