Topic: Im genuinely so frustrated i had a breakdown bc of this (error code 2813-2470)

I just had a full on breakdown right now because i seriously have no idea why this is happening. Basically, for half a year ive been trying to do purchases on the eshop, but i keep getting the same error code.

No matter what method i try to make those purchases, it just fails for no reason. I tried purchasing through the website, and jt loses connection, i try to link a paypal, paypal doesnt let me purchase the thing i want, i tried every credit card under the sun to make the purchases i want. NOTHING.

Speaking to the card company isnt an option because i used cards from so many different companies. we spoke to the bank, apparently they dont even see the purchase requests, so its a failure on nintendo's part. I tried looking for the help i need through FAQs and nintendo support articles, nothing helps. I tried contacting my country's support hotline, and they couldnt help me because eshop isnt their area. They told me to go to the nintendo europe support email, and so i did. The nintendo eurppe support email refused to help me because my account isnt european which im still not sure what that means because i set my account to the uk? Maybe they are talking about my IP?

A few weeks ago i discovered i can just make purchases through a different account, so it gave me a little hope, but today i discovered the same exact problem on the new account.

And thats why im frustrated

I dont know how can anyone help me, but if anyone has any idea what to do that i didnt think of yet, please please tell me

@Nutnuts You can find out what Switch error codes mean if you put the error code into the search bar on nintendo support's site. Disregard if you know already.

Someone new makes a new thread on this issue, or a similar sounding issue, about 2-4 times a year, and it's been happening since around March 2020 (I think) when there were new financial security & anti hacking upgrade updates implemented for Nintendo's eshop system. I believe it was a reaction to new threats that Nintendo encountered a month or two prior to that upgrade.

As far as I can tell, I think scenarios like yours seem to center around buying across country lines. If you look at Snatcher's link to the support page for your error code, one workaround is setting up paypal for your eshop (If I remember right, I set my paypal up on my nintendo account on nintendo's website). Although, this solution doesn't appear to work for all regions/countries. Sometimes, a security measure gets triggered, and it takes a month for the issue with the card to clear. I don't know if that's your scenario, or not.

If you can't resolve the issue with your bank or nintendo,(this is a common complaint, unfortunately) I think your only purchase options may be to buy eshop voucher/gift cards to add funds to your eshop to make purchases. Or buy digital games from retailers - the retailer website will give you a redeem code after you submit your payment.

If anyone thinks I missed anything, feel free to chime in.
