Topic: If there was a new Smash Bros. for Switch, what characters would you want in it?

Okay, which characters would you want in a theoretical second Smash game for Switch?

Seems like a waste of energy, hoping for characters for a series that's essentially done now.

We won't see another Smash game for decades.

@Magician Makes sense. I've just been thinking about this for awhile and needed to get it off my mind.

The only way to make a second Smash game on Switch would be to completely change the formula. If that would happen, I think they would rely on core characters/franchises, like Mario, Link, Samus, Pikachu, and Kirby.

In my case would be a new splatoon Rep, Rayman, ring fit trainer, the sportsmates from switch Sports and a new Pokemon/fire emblem Rep.

James Bond after they launch Goldeneye.

If there was indeed a new Smash Bros. game, then I would love to see Yugo from Bloody Roar and Tidus from Final Fantasy X joining the fray

Dream pick would probably be Ori, but I doubt he'd ever get in, and Rivals of Aether at least fills that niche anyways

On the first party side of things, I really want to see Waluigi, Dixie Kong, and Bandana Dee make their long-overdue debuts, along with some better Zelda representation and potentially Captain Toad or Paper Mario (action commands in a Smash moveset could be sick). I also think it'd be really funny if they managed to put together a moveset for Qbby, who I think would be the most suitable pick for a representative of Nintendo's smaller digital-only games (there have been 4 BoxBoy games, and they've been more consistently well-received than, say, Dillon's Rolling Western). As for third-parties, more Sonic representation would be nice - I think Shadow has potential beyond a simple Echo Fighter - though I honestly can't see how they'd make Eggman work. I'd also personally love to see Rayman, Doom Slayer, and Phoenix Wright

I sort of want a Triangle Strategy character… Serenoa would make the most sense, but I would love Frederica or Anna.
I don’t expect another Smash game any time soon though

If you had asked me this 2 years ago, I would've said Bandana Dee, Rayman and Crash Bandicoot.

Now though, whilst I still want them, there's only one man on my mind.

It's absolutely out of the question but I think Lara Croft would undeniably be a welcome addition.

On the slightly more likely side of things, what with Ubisoft's recent collaboration with Nintendo, the Master Assassin himself: my logo here on Nintendo Life, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Granted, this is only marginally more likely to occur, but hey: it'd be awesome.

Dream pick would be Asuka from Senran Kagura (yeah highly unlikely to happen)

I think it'll be years before we'll hear of a new Super Smash Bros game. Four to five at the very least, I'd say.

Anyway, always Isaac (Golden Sun). Been wanting him since the Melee days. For third party, I'd love to see Amaterasu (Okami).

Yeah, it's too popular/buzzworthy a series to be waiting decades for the next Smash game, lol (unless you think the next one will just be a jazzed up Ultimate port and thus aren't counting it, which fair enough).

While I don't think we'll get another on the Switch & Sakurai is probably done with it, I do think we'll see a new one on the next system, whether it be a jazzed up Ultimate port (with a few new characters/stages & all DLC included, licensing permitting), or a reboot of some sort.
