The most annoying thing, when it comes to touch controls, is that major third parties often opt to ignore it merely because it wasn't implemented for other platforms (but even more annoying when PC games ported to Switch don't get touch controls). Two Point Hospital/Campus are two particularly frustrating examples.
It's also annoying that official styluses aren't more readily available given how great they work with games that support touch controls.
@JaxonH : To your point, I agree for the most part, with the exception of classic DOOM, because you can only manipulate the X axis (and Y axis is subject to auto-aiming), so, in this rare instance, I think gyro aiming would render this game unplayable, at least for me. It's good that the option is still there for those who are so inclined.
And for some absolutely bizarre reason, gyro aiming on handheld is virtually unusable in the GTA Trilogy, but it works perfectly in docked/tabletop mode. :/
