Topic: I need emotional support for Xenoblade 2 Ending

I am having major depression because of the ending in Xenoblade 2. I need help knowing a GOOD ending so that I will be able to feel better. I wanted to hear their voice and not be blocked by music. I don't know if I can continue without feeling hurt everytime I remember the game. I wanted the game to end in a equally positive as was the negative part. I just feel so bad. I don't know what to even do.

The DLC of the game seems to ignore the post game, will we get any more information about it? The ending made me REGRET playing this game ever. I shouldve just ignored this game. The ending just played with my emotions WAY too much.

I REALLY need help and possibly someone to provide me with good information that Nintendo MAY provide a post game information. It doesn't need to be a game, but simply a cut scene that shows how everyone is doing. Thanks.

@Sir_Anthony It is a really good game, I just dont like the ending. It easily is my favorite game of all time, or ranked around there.

@Ahris I love endings that play with emotions or endings that leave me pondering in general, as long as the ending is appropriate / makes sense.

@Sir_Anthony Then the game is probably for you. I dont know how to think now and it basically destroyed my opinion of this game. It is still my favorite, but I probably wont touch it unless there is post game dlc.

What you are feeling is separation anxiety. It's the same thing when you lose someone and you feel all empty inside and don't know how to move on. The game is over and you don't want to let go. But I tell you it is not over and you can play it even more and finish all the super bosses and other high lvl monsters etc. In fact the ending was good if you think about it. You lost someone only to have her back, in both her forms as well, the ending is actually alright and you can always return to it. You did what you had to do and kicked the crap out of maltus and saved the day! Only good games makes us feel sad in the end cause we don't want them to end, lord knows I have felt like that so many times that I actually stopped before the end of many games so as not to feel empty, I'm looking at you baldur's gate! (all of them)

@skrax Thanks for awesome reply. I just dont feel like playing at all after a cute character basically suicides to save the world. Yes, they came back, but the damage has been done.

I really want to see the continuation, just like you mentioned and I know Nintendo wont make a sequel, pretty sure as the story is complete. Though there is some part missing for example, Rex said he will go see the Vandham's play but he never returned to go see what happened.

It had so much potential to make an awesome ending, but they didnt do it.

I just finished it last night, and it was huge, I do really don't want this game to end, but I need to go on. The end is quite sad, and the new story this or next year could be awesome.

I don't think a thread title that partially hints if it's either a happy ending or bad is a good thing when someone haven't even came closed to finished the game yet. I'm no moderator or anything, but it'll be nice if this was in the main thread of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 thread or a thread title that doesn't hints at it

Not going to lie, I cried too during the ending! My tears were a mixture of joy and sadness - the joy being the amazing experience I had playing the game, the sadness coming from the realization that the game is over and also Pyra's sacrifice (only to have her come back because... plot?).

Good... good

@Heavyarms55 Uh is your spoiler supposed to be clicked on? Cause it's not working... and it's leaving me confused...
Yeah it's mentioned some ways she could've survived like how Malos stated that Aegises can live a short time without their core crystal but it's never explained how she:
-Survived the explosion of the world tree
-How she suddenly appeared out of the core crystal she gave to Rex
-Why Mythra AND Pyra are both outside

Until I get a proper explanation I'm considering that scene PIS.

Good... good

I haven't played the game, so I can't go into specifics. A good ending doesn't always have to happy. It should end in such a way that the player feels different emotions. An ending that has both good and bad, feels more realistic.

Also, if a certain character comes back after death, then where's the problem? I wish more games had the guts to kill a main protagonist and let them stay dead.

@subpopz True. I'm personally of the opinion that sequels should occur after a time-skip or with new characters. Not a fan of direct sequels so I didn't about re-using the same character. I guess if Cloud died, there would no point in making the FF7 movie.

The ending was fine.

Mythra and Pyra came back from their core crystal as all blades do. Because Blades don't die. But their memories were gone, thus all their memories with Rex were wiped out. The very end even says "and thus, boy meets girl" indicating it was like they were meeting for the first time all over again... save for Rex's own memories. But I think he was just happy to see them again

Spoilers. Maybe the DLC packs will have the good ending when they release whenever they release.

Someday we'll find it

@JaxonH Even if that was true (no conclusive evidence either way), it still doesn't feel like much of a loss since there's no reason the group can't just quickly fill the two of them in on what memories they may be missing, except maybe the ones involving Addam and the war she fought 500 years ago... ones she didn't really like anyway.

@meleebrawler
There's a difference between being told memories... and living them

Perfect example is in that Netflix show The Travellers. She's told how she's "really close" with dude... But she doesn't feel it because the memories are gone... eventually she asks if they were together, and almost feels guilty she doesn't remember and can't force herself to feel a certain way.

@JaxonH Fine... still doesn't change the fact that their time together before the resurrection was rather short, all things considered (especially from Pneuma's perspective, as she puts it in her thank-you speech), and whether or not they elect to tell the two of them everything that happened, they and Rex now have a whole life ahead of them to look forward to. The ending title screen implies that they still very much have feelings for each other, and after New Game+, still see Nia as a friend as well.
