Topic: How will you actually use your Switch (TV, around the home, outside)?

Maybe 30% on the TV, 50% around the house, and 20% outside.

I don't really get out much, but I can see several different scenario where I'd be more inclined to play it out and about such as at work during my break and in restaurants while I'm waiting for my food.

Basically, however I feel like. If in the mood for big screen gaming, on the TV. Want to lie in bed, handheld mode. On the train? Maybe portable but if I have a table may set it up to portable mode to give arms a rest. Visiting the grilfriend on a rainy day? Activate local multiplayer mode,

Choice is the name of the game and I plan to use them all depending on what mood I am in at the time.

Getting it for sure. Maybe not day one. Christmas 2017 at the latest. Will use it at home, both as console and handheld.

@FriedSquid It's an expensive piece of tech. When I look at my phone after 2 years of wear and tear, then I know for sure that I don't want any of my gaming consoles to look like that. Plus, I think that most people are home console owners here, and see this as a replacement for the Wii U first and foremost. In a sense that there's nothing else on the home console front from Nintendo currently.

I think I'll mainly use it on the TV and around the house, but being a chef, working split shifts and often getting really short breaks, around 45 mins to and hour a day, I'll probably take it to work just in case I end doing an AFD! Will definitely have to invest in a good hard case for it though

Yeah, I sort of suspected as much when I asked- but I wasn't sure if it was just me. The whole concept of dragging an expensive machine out and about almost solely for playing long games on probably isn't appealing to western gamers (of course there are exceptions).

I'd be curious to see if the Japanese and the Asian markets are more the target audience for playing it whilst sitting on the backrest of a park bench?

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

@MrGawain
You could be right. Adults in the West tend to go to work by car. As far as work is concerned besides breakfast I dont really have a break that would warrant a gaming session. Personally I tend to game at home when I am outside I do different things. Never used my portable outside my home.

I'll mostly be using mine on the TV and around the house. I rarely take my handheld systems outside anymore (partially because I live in the boonies and drive everywhere, so no public commute), and it's rare for me to go on long trips where it's necessary. Plus I'm paranoid that I'll drop the system or damage it in some way (I'm a klutz), or have either the system and/or my games lost or stolen.

I used to occasionally take systems to family gatherings back in the day when I knew I'd be bored, but some of my older relatives frowned upon it so I had to quit doing it.

Mostly around the house. I usually play in front of my TV in the weekend's afternoons but after dinner my family all stays in the living room, watching the news. So know I can join them playing the game in HD! Because the damn Gamepad's range is worthless.
Also when I travel, it will be a nice way to pass time when I travel. The 3DS nice, but the little screen gives me a bit of headache after a long time playing

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

It's an expensive piece of tech, but at the same time it won't be jiggling around in the same pocket as your car keys scratching the screen. I'll probably take this with me to work sometimes to play during break. Aside from that I'll be playing it at home, though unlike Wii U i'll be able to take this downstairs and play whenever I want. There was also the issue of not all games supporting off TV play on Wii U and those that did all had different hotkey assignments to do so. It got confusing to the point I almost wasn't even worth it especially because the range sucked.

But with this I know it'll be the same process every time- just grab it and take it.

Almost entirely on TV, since it appears the dock is purely for TV out and charging I suspect I'll get more than one dock and connect them up in different rooms, so I can switch which room the switch is in without the need to change over the wires.

Probably 90% at home and 10% for long trips away from home. This would likely become my Wii U replacement while I keep my 3DS for my portable handheld fix.

Apart from multiplayer Mario kart on the TV, most of my switch play will be in bed.

If it has StreetPass on it (which I doubt) I'll take it everywhere I go, like my 3DS, but not to actually play outside. If not (and I strongly suspect that StreetPass has now died) it'll be a 100% at home device. Probably off tv-screen mostly, but in the same room as my family as they watch tv.

Reznor52

Probably 50% on my tv
45% around the house or different rooms
5%, taking it on the go to play at other friends houses
I have at least 3 close friends who all plan on buying the nintendo switch. So I envision us on the weekends, maybe 1-2 times a month all meeting up to couch/lan it up on all our Switch devices. Ahh getting so excited thinking about it.

On my commute, or lying on my bed. Very occasionally on the TV.

I have every other console and a gaming PC, I don't really need another choice for a traditional gaming set up.

The whole appeal of the switch for me is proper gaming on the go.
