I don't usually wishlist a ton of games, but I have like 7-8 at the moment on stuff like WarioWare, Dark Souls, Street Fighter and Animal Crossing.
As for advice on which to let go, I'd make a list of all your games on there and sort them into categories of 'Need', 'Want', 'Can Live W/o', that kind of stuff. From that, just eliminate the smallest ones until you're left with the definites. That's what works for me at least.

There's a limit at around 150-200 games, I found. After Switch launched, anytime I saw something interesting, I put it on the list. After a while, I hit the limit.
I have like 30 games on the wish list currently, but it's mainly games I won't buy unless they go on sale for $5 or less, because they aren't amazing games.
About a dozen. Nine times out of ten I buy a physical, so I try not to make a habit of buying digital games on day-one because chances are it'll get a physical release sometime down the road. Usually only those games where the publisher or developer have expressly said on social media that it was a digital-only release with no immediate plans for a physical release make the list (Grid, Strange Brigade, Hand of Fate 2, etc).
Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)

My main eshop account wishlist has 254 entries on it currently. I've got a couple of other accounts too with a few games on separate wishlists (some may duplicate the main list, can't check right now).
I hardly ever buy an eshop game unless it's on sale, and don't put many on the wishlist if there's a physical option.
The wishlist really needs a sort/filter function so I can filter games on sale.
According to Deku Deals I've got just over 200. If I include stuff I still want pick up on older consoles/PC then probably close to 500. Yeah, I'm never 'completing' the wishlist 😂

Don't ever let me hear you talking like that, dude. Where there's a wishlisted game, there's a target that can be taken out. One shot at a time if you have to. You've got this. Start tonight - get on the eshop and tick one off the list.
Then add 8 more to the wishlist after the Direct. Then go again.
@gcunit It's like the mythical Hydra though - I chop one off the wishlist and 2 appear in it's place 😂😂
Also, every game off the wishlist is a game onto the backlog, and that's nearly got as many games on it and has remarkably similar Hydra-like tendencies...
As I'm typing this Deku Deals email just came through with Olli Olli Switch Stance reduced to £2.02 - so I'm on it! And a big eShop sale starting tomorrow so hopefully make a decent dent in the wishlist/add to the backlog. As long as I buy more in the sale than I add to the wishlist after the Direct I'll be happy
@dmcc0 The main trouble I've had is due to the tendency for indie games to get physical releases announced way after the eshop release, which has made me very cautious about buying anything digital.
Take that OlliOlli example - I got the same email and would normally snuffle it right up (and may still do at £1.42 on the SA eshop), but what with the new OlliOlli game releasing to great acclaim I'm thinking there really should be a physical OlliOlli collection coming.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit I tend not to bother with physicals for indie stuff - especially the limited ones - as I find it hard to justify the price. I mean <£2 for OlliOlli digitally, or wait for a physical at maybe £30 - £50 (by the time you factor in shipping etc) is a no-brainer for me. If there's a sale on I could easily pick up as many as 10 games for the price of 1 physical.
Seriously, I've got a wish list of 16 games on Deku Deals where I'm waiting for the right discount to come around. The rest is just games that aren't out yet.
