You must buy them via the Minecraft store.

The Switch version of the game doesn't allow you to introduce or extract data via the SD card.

Yeah, you can only really mod Java edition. All the console editions and Bedrock Edition on PC have "mods", but you have to purchase them with in-game currency. It's one of the reasons why I really prefer Java over all of the other editions of the game.

The java version of Minecraft is definitely power-hungry. Bedrock might not be the favorite of the hardcore gamer, but it's much more compatible.

Even a cheap tablet pc can run it.

"Transferring mods to your Switch can be tricky. If you're not using Realms, you'll need to install the mods using a computer and an SD card. Have you checked out any online guides for installing Minecraft addons? There are plenty of tutorials out there that can help walk you through the process. Just follow each step carefully, and don't skip any steps, or you might run into issues.
Also, remember that not all mods are compatible with the Switch version of Minecraft, so be sure to do some research and only download mods that have been confirmed to work on the Switch."

@WilliamSmith193 we aren't here to talk homebrew and as posted MS minecraft mods don't work on Switch.
