Does Fortnite on Switch have gyroscopic aiming by the way? It'd be great if it did, especially with how much time I've spent on Splatoon 2.

@NinjaAceTrainer As of now, no. Maybe because this will give an advantage against other console players, though this can already be said for PC players.

I tried the game. While the game is based on the mobile version, as it has a lower required space than other console versions, it still plays very well even on the Switch's screen. I don't know the exact resolution, but it runs at 30 frames per second, which I believe it can run 60 fps if Epic puts more efforts to it. With the exception of PS4 owners of fortnite, you can continue your progress from any version of the game on your Nintendo Switch.

Played a few matches... oof. It really hurts to see it be 30fps. I assume this will be fixed at a later date, but this is a disappointment in the meantime. Better than a mobile version, but a inferior to the other versions. But if you never played Fortnite before, maybe that won't bother you.

Good game but rubbish port. Low resolution, blurry and lots of pop in in handheld. That 30FPS jist kills it. Trying aim is a nightmare because it moves so slow.

And the fact you can't use PlayStation accounts? That's just dumb. There is no good reason behind that.

I just got killed constantly as expected, so yeah...I doubt I'll stay into this game for long.

Actually I get new Video Card by Friday, because my current one is weak and until then my only option to have playable experience to finally try out Fortnite is my Switch, so I play a bit this game with Switch. Plus I only be able to play Switch version of Fortnite when I be at Grandmother place outside city to enjoy summer, so it's cool option to have such a game on Switch. But would be nice to see Gyroscope support in future, because now PC rules that game.

Don't know much about Fortnite but is the non battle royale mode stuff playable on Switch?? Or any offline modes??

@bluemage1989 For now, only Battle Royale mode is included. Once "Save the World" mode goes out of early access, it may be available to everyone for free.

Half my friends list is playing this game already. I know next to nothing about it. Yes, I do live under a rock. Downloading it and will give it a go at some point. How does the online work? Is it just me and randoms or can I create lobby and invite friends?

Sorry guys, this might sound dumb but this is my first time looking into Fortnite... is this PVE? I swear I logged in, found a shotgun & sniper rifle... and unloaded both into someone who took no damage. Lol, is there something I'm doing wrong or am I in the wrong game mode? The videos I've looked up all just seem to have people resource collecting & the capping people.

Edit: Wish Splatoon Battle Royale had been announced now.

@Lroy There's a setting where you can choose your preferred server, but by default it is set on auto. The online works good.

@DanteSolablood Fortnite has two modes: Save the World, which is PvE, and Battle Royale, which is PvP. The main goal of battle royale is to be the last man standing regardless of number of kills you got. The bullet accuracy is weird, as you can headshot pump shotgun even if you aim above the enemy's head, you'll get used to it.

@Azooooz Thanks, I worked out what the issue was - it looked to me like there were two game modes 50v50 & Play... so when I went for Play I thought I was selecting the solo Battle Royale. Which was dumb! Just played my first match and it was fun, like Minecraft UHC without a hunger bar.

@Matthew010 Try not lying to them. It's a battle game, of course it has violence. But talk with them honestly, ask them to try the game with you or themselves and to see what they think. If it is something you really want to play, speak with them honestly, and calmly. And perhaps warm them up first. Don't mention the game, just go around the house doing extra chores, and being even more polite and well behaved than normal, and then bring up the talk about the game. And absolutely make sure your homework is done first.

Kinda BS how Sony is blocking people from playing their accounts on Switch.

Turns out my Epic Games developer account also lets me play Fortnite.

I didn't see it answered anywhere but maybe someone here knows. Since it's F2P, will fortnite requires a paid Switch Online membership once it goes live in September? If it doesn't probably won't start my membership until smash in December but was curious.
